Wow...as much as I knock on him during the season, you hate to see anyone have to go through that.

My 30-year-old niece went through that last year. They removed her entire thyroid surgically, then put her through the chemo and radiation treatments. Other than a "smiley" scar on her throat, and the synthroid she'll be taking for the rest of her life, she appears to be doing well.
I hope he does as well as she.
I thought I read somewhere that he already had his thyroid removed--so hopefully this round of radiation is just to make sure the thing doesn't come back.
