One correction to my "favor" subject: The Pac-10. I believe the WAC plays 9 Pac-10 games...unless I misread your numbers.

Your OOC strength predictor doesn't take home/away into account. Other than that, I'd say it's a pretty good break down.

It's nice to see NMSU with a lousy OOC schedule for once, instead of somewhere in the 20's or 30's. More than anything we need some WINS. This schedule should give us a chance to get some and not get so many players banged up.

I hated us dropping Arizona State - but it was the right thing to do. In a few years we can beef it up again.

Also I agree - UTEP is way better than #100. Don't know where that came from. They should probably be around 60.

Last year we played the hardest schedule in the WAC, and I'm glad this year we will play the easiest.

If you go down to my thread about Sagarin Ratings since 2000, you'll see how I came up with that number. In other words, it's a 6 year average. I've taken a 3 year average and UTEP doesn't improve, at all, because of their bad year in 2003. They're one of THE most improved teams since 2003, so they're definitely better than #100.

There are 5 roadies against the PAC 10.

And I've been thinking more about your idea to not schedule the MWC any longer. You have a point here. If the WAC schedules the MWC, then the MWC gets exposure over ESPN, ESPN 2 or ESPN regional. I want the MWC to have to deal with CSTV and not get the best of both worlds (doesn't quite seem fair). It's time to stop scheduling them where they'd get televised by ESPN and its affiliates.
