How the hell this conf even picks all-conf defence is beyond me. How does the best D in the conf get one 2nd team & one 3rd team.
They were the only TU guys among the top 48 tacklers in the MAC?

They are picked by the 13 MAC coaches only, so if you have a beef with the All-MAC selections that is who it should be directed too.

Personally, I am shocked that Toledo's Brett Kern was just 2nd Team punter despite being #1 in the MAC in punting, #2 in the nation in punting, and one of three finalists for the Ray Guy Award (the other two finalists are from Cincinnati and Georgia Tech respectively). So my beef for that is directed towards those 13 coaches.

Maybe because everyone in the unit contributes instead of one or two standouts. That's not an insult.
Kern did get Special Teams PotY and 2nd-Team punter. I guess I get what you're saying -- not sure how CMU's Andrew Hartline wasn't one of the top two tackles from a team with the least sacks against it -- but still not too shabby.
As WMU coach Bill Cubit pointed out today in a radio interview when asked about All-MAC awards, he saw only 7 MAC teams. He is therefore voting on All-MAC awards with 6 teams he has not seen this year. He said if he hasn't looked at them on film and broken them down, it's pretty tough to vote.

That is certainly a problem in a 13 team league. It might be more fair IF the MAC would scrap the unbalanced division nonsense in football and go to a 9 game MAC schedule with every MAC game counting. Then, coaches would see all but three teams and would have a better idea of who the studs are around the league.
