Sounds like Genyk's style. We need a very good quality LB next year to redshirt as next year is Holtzclaw's last year along with a number of other quality LBs (Selmon for example). I would like to see his bench pressing and power lifting numbers and see if I can find him in the rivals database.

I think EMU needs to bring in a few LB's that can play immediatly. In 2008 the only experienced LB's they'll have are Holtzclaw, Hatchett, Seaberry, and Selmon. There are maybe two freshmen that are redshirting now.

Bottom line - EMU has no depth at LB and they have an open starting spot to fill. I think they should sign 4 LB's with at least one being a JUCO.
Two current players that could give a boost to the linebackers are DE Spencer Smith and RB Blevins. Spencer is already a major force at DE so that might not make sense depending on how the young DE's are coming along. Blevins is interesting because he has the size and speed to step in right now, and isn't getting much chance to contribute at RB....I understand he was an excellent high school linebacker....Then again maybe they have a bigger RB role planned for him with the departure of Pierre.
Blevins was an all city lb out of Denby and Smith I believe played a lot of lb at Mackenzie HS Wouldn't be surprised if on of the two were switched in the spring. Selman is back and one of the reshirt LB's was a kid named Bittner, the other was a converted safety from Ohio *(Dayton area)(Trotwood Madison).
The Trotwood Ohio player is Marcus English who out of high school was a very solid prospect.

By the way anyone else notice this but when it comes to EMU recruits there is alot of that "Under the radar" narrative?
there almost has to be. same thing as down here in nc with duke (i know it's a little different because of the academics), when it comes to football duke has to take a lot of chances and cant get the best guys compared to nc, nc st, florida and maryland, etc.
Greer is a two star Rivals recruit who benches 350 and squats 360, has a 3.6 GPA and has offers from EMU, Air Force, Army and Eastern Ill.

If I recall right Holtzclaw benched over 500 pounds as a high school senior!
