#25 in AP poll
unranked in Coaches poll
I just read somewhere that they are #25 in the ESPN Coach's poll (I think it was a GC article). This is what ESPN shows too. http://sports-ak.espn.go.com/ncb/rankings
Wonder when the last time a ranked team has come in to UA?

Hopefully SIU can stay ranked and we can have 2 of them visit this year.
Has a top 25 mens team ever played in U Arena???
KALAMAZOO -- The Western Michigan men's basketball team will play its first home game of the season on Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. against No. 25 Davidson.

The Wildcats are the first nationally-ranked team to play at University Arena since No. 24 Eastern Michigan on Feb. 7, 1996, more than 11 years ago. The Broncos (3-2) will present the first challenge for Davidson (1-1) since they nearly upset No. 1 North Carolina, 72-68, last Wednesday.

The Broncos have won two straight over Horizon League foes Loyola, 63-61, and Detroit, 60-59, to finish up a five-game stretch of games away from home going into this contest.

The game features a Men's Basketball Thanksgiving Special where fans can purchase four game tickets, four hot dogs, four Cokes and four bags of chips for $40. Tickets are available by calling 1-888-4-WMU-TIX, online or by visiting the Waldo Stadium Ticket Office during the day or University Arena four hours prior to tipoff.

FYI......Anyone remeber when we beat then #1 ranked DePaul in '84 (I think it was '84...lost a lot of brain cells since the mid-80s) at our place. Great game to be at! .......god I'm old.
'79 with Kenny Cunningham's non travel call and Mark Aguirre not playing til the 2nd half having missed the bus ride.

Big win but it couldn't save Dick Shilts.
Was Purdue ranked when they came to UA with Glen "Big Dog" Robinson?
Shilts wasn't the coach, Vern Payne was.

Aguirre missed the bus? I don't remember that.
'79 Shilts was the coach. Now in 84, I can't say if Depaul played at Read. Ned Hellman was a HS senior that year (83-84). Payne was his coach starting the next winter.
DePaul went to the final 4 in '79. Magic's year. I believe they had 3 losses in the regular season, one to Western in Kazoo.
No will even tell you.
In '84 Depaul played at Read. I'm 98% sure of it. Again, age amd depleted brain cells may be working against me. I also believe that VP was the coach. On an aside, he had some great teams, what is he up to now?

I believe it was the last time a #1 ranked team came to our house. May have been the only time.
