Southern Illinois has been a blue print for mid major success the last six years and haven't dropped off a bit from Weber (Illini) to Painter (Purdue) and now Lowery.

I hope the Salukies take it easy on us Saturday.
If I were in saluki paws , I wouldn't.

Kick em when they're down is my motto.
What does winning do for recruiting? Apparently, not much.

Case in point, NIU football.

Late 90's, who in there right mind would've wanted to come here? Well, they did and we became good..........

2003 & 2004 we shocked the world and gained national exposure. Recruiting classes those years and since then have been crap.
Re-phrase: Winning and knowing HOW to recruit = good recruiting.
Another case: Ron Turner at Illinois. 11-1, Big Ten Champs, BCS bowl... followed that up with seasons of 1-11 and 3-8, which ultimately led to him being let go. Now, as a comparison watch was winning and a great recruiting like Zook does for a program.

Winning is the single most important factor in recruiting, but it's not the only thing.
