University of Toledo/COSI – How about it?

GUEST BLOGGER DAVE HACKENBERG
Sometimes, many times I guess, I know not of what I speak. Such ignorance usually rules out an in-print column, because nobody wants to look stupid and, for sure, nobody wants to get sued. But this is “just” a blog, and Roberta’s blog at that. So here goes.

Why doesn’t the University of Toledo take over COSI?

Now, here’s what I admit to not knowing...

A Good Idea from The Blade
Daves idea is certainly thought provoking!

I LIKE IT!
I like it as well, but I don't think it would work unless new funding is provided that doesn't exist today.
Hack makes a lot of sense on this issue. UT could really use this to their advantage. They could send Education students to work there as an internship. They could have Engineering student's projects displayed there. They could even put a live lab there for elementary students to watch, etc.

The possibilities are in fact...endless.
I love this idea. How about the alternate fuel vehicle the engineering students have been so successful with? Why not give that project a home that's open and inviting to the public? The positives of this, at first blush anyway, outweigh any negatives. Imo, this would be an investment, not a cost.
The Blocks/COSI-How about it? Invest in the community.
Perhaps Dr. Jacobs can mend a fence there while doing as Hack suggests. "Bringing the community in" by including the Blade in the process would be a painless win-win.
