Anderson etches name into books

Quote:Anderson had two rushes in the second half, opening the door for backup David Bryant to get some carries. Bryant led the Huskies with 28 rushes for 110 yards. Freshman tailback Chad Spann suffered a possible season-ending knee injury on the kickoff team, leaving the Huskies with two healthy backs.

“It's me and Justin now,” Bryant said. “We have to do our thing. It was a good feeling to get out there. The offensive line did a great job.”

“If you haven't noticed all we have left is Justin and David,” Novak said. “Chad Spann got hurt and he is likely done for the year. These guys, I mean, I love them to death, but they do not fool everybody out there. They take a lot of hits every game and I hope they can stick it out for the next two weeks and remain healthy because we have nobody left.”
Chad Spann is now our most recent RB done for the season, adding to the list of Montell Clanton, Ricky Crider, and Cas Prime being the others. Kind of disconcerting that we only have two RB's left. It was really sad watching our team come out of the Yordon Center and onto the field and seeing so many players in their jumpsuits. We could field a pretty damn good team with all our injuried players.
Why do you post this here? No one else cares. Keep it in the NIU forum. Quit trying to rationalize our 2-8 record with all the injuries.

Because this is a MAC forum and we are a MAC team. You only come around the NIU board when you have something negative to say. I noticed you haven't said anything since we won a game.
I believe Scooter has some eligibility if you want him. 03-lmfao
Keep posting, Snoopy. I don't go to every team board and if it isn't here I don't get the info. Thanks!

Thanks, that's why i come on the main MAC board. To read up on my fellow conference mates and discuss with them.
At least you guys still have your starting RB, Kent State has lost 3 QBs and is now down to #4 even after burning a redshirt year on Morgan for all of 5 quarters of play.

Yes and no. We lost our RB that started the season early in the year but yes, our starter for most of the year is still ok.
He just hit the 1000 yard mark for the year marking the 9th straight year we have had a 1000 yard rusher. That is the longest current streak in 1A(unless the Minnesota RB can get approx 400 in his last game then we would be tied).
I feel for NIU. Although Miami hasn't fared too well in that department either:

In the first two weeks of the season Miami lost

starting RB Brandon Murphy,
2nd string RB Andre Bratton

and since then its had to use 3rd string RB Austin Sykes (who's missed games with injury) as well as 4th string RB Cory Jones (who's missed games with injury)

last game, Miami played some Jones, some R-FR Jamel Miller (who left the game with an injury) and true freshman Thomas Merriweather.

Of course not as decimated as NIU, Miami also lost its starting QB Mike Kokal, starting WR Dustin Woods (for part of the year), starting right guard Matt McKeown, starting DT Ben Huddle, back-up DT James Case, starting MLB Joey Hudson (for some games), back-up LB Ryan Kennedy, back-up LB Alex Kaufman, starting CB Wendell Brunson among others.

How is Thomas Merriweather looking? I believe NIU offered him or at the very least i know he was on our recruiting radar.

I remember Dustin Woods killing us last season. He's good.

I guess I can't disagree with that. 05-duck

merriweather is doing very well. He had 2 td's vs Buffalo and is starting to see the field more as he's become more comfortable with his blocking assignments
