Hawaii's 2005 recruiting class was the best class in UH history.

Colt Brennan - The #2 QB in the country in total offense as of this week.

Devone Bess - True Freshman. the #8 receiver in the country after this week.

Salomon E. - True Freshman. MLB. Leading tackler for the Warriors.

Adam Leonard - True Freshman. MLB. Becoming more of a factor on the Hawaii "D" every week. Against Nevada last week, made a statement for the starting job.

It seems to me that the WAC talent level has gone up for all the WAC schools.

Fresno State has good young players.

Boise State has been winning a lot of recruiting battles lately. Neil Lomax's son being th latest.

SJSU landed one of the best LB's in the State of California. Tomey has a habit of landing those types of players.

La. Tech - Those mutha's actually replace Moates. Who would have thunk it.

How was your class of 2005? How are they contributing now?

Need help with the new schools.

I can't give you specific recruiting numbers for Utah St. I can tell you that when you talk to the kids that Brent Guy has recruited, they are, hands down, much classier and much more enthusiastic about football than the previous kids, speaking in general. I love the freshmen on the Utah St squad this year. They are oustanding kids! I can't say the same for all of the other kids.

That should be enough information for you. I'll also say that Utah St is playing 20 freshmen on a roster of about 70. Those 20 are playing right now. There are more on that roster of 70 who aren't seeing any time. Also, those 20 kids have very significant roles on the team. There are a few kids I can think of, right off hand, who are starting that are freshmen.

RB Ryan Bohm
There is at least 1 offensive lineman that starts and is a freshman. Help me out, USU78.
DT Brian Soi
LBs Devon Hall and Jake Hutton
CB Marquis Charles was starting not long ago until he cracked his tailbone. (I know all too well how that feels. I still feel that injury I had 11 years ago on a daily basis. OUCH!)

When you look at the second string and special teams, Utah St is playing a LOT of freshmen. Utah St is going to improve DRASTICALLY over the next two years, because of Brent Guy and WAC recruiting!
I think the 2005 recruiting class for Boise State is, without a doubt, the single best recruiting class that Boise State has ever signed. Supporting evidence of that is the following:

# 1. Orlando Scandrick is STARTING at cornerback for Boise State as a true freshman right out of high school. He beat out Quinton Jones, a junior this year, after the first game of the season.

# 2. Dennis Ellis was a FOUR Star rated J.C. defensive end. He has all the talent in the world as a defensive end. And he has seen some playing time. His problem (it seems) is getting to meetings on time. Seems he has a problem with that. If he could ever figure out that 10 a.m means BE THERE NO LATER THAN 9:45 a.m. he'd be a dominant force on the D-line for Boise State.

# 3. Jeremy Childs, a teammate of Orlando Scandrick in high school, was an RCH away from playing this year as a true freshman. Boise State only redshirted him because the Broncos had so much depth at WR this season that he would be wasting his time this season if he had played. But they seriously considered burning his redshirt nonetheless. This Childs kid was considered by many to be the best of last year's recruiting class for BSU.

# 4. Jerard Rabb, another FOUR star rated J.C. prospect, was leading the team in receiving yards at one point this season. He has been a big part of the Boise State offense this season and he will be an even big part of it next season.

# 5. Nick Lomax, the son of former NFL All-Pro quarterback Neil Lomax, astounded many in fall camp. He looks (right now) to be the successor to Zabransky in the future. FYI, he was 6' 6" tall and 210 lbs in high school, i.e., before he got to Boise State and their weight training program.

# 6. Jadon Daily, another J.C. recruit, he contended for the starting spot at center and is now the second string center for BSU. He has seen some playing time this season in a backup role at center.

# 7. Kyle Wilson comes to Boise State all the way from New Jersey and he is going to be a return specialist and WR for BSU in the future.

# 8. Aiona Key, another wide receiver, is an outstanding all-around athlete. He high jumped over 7 feet in high school. He is considered by many to be nearly equal to the talent level of Jeremy Childs.

And there are other players in the 2005 Boise State recruiting class who may (or may not) see significant playing time in the very near future. But whether they do or not remains to seen since they are being redshirted this year. These "other" players include Richie Brockel, a 6' 2" 230 lbs tight end in high school, Cameron Filkins, a 325 lbs offensive linemen who was greyshirted last fall, Ben Iannacchione, an offensive lineman and a tranfer from the Univ. of West Virginia who has to sit out this season due to his transfer to Boise State, Tristan Patin, a highly regarded DB prospect and Nathan Thomas a 6' 1" 220 lbs linebacker in high school.

Now consider the fact that Boise State actually signed only 14 players; after you exclude Jameson Davis who went on an LDS church mission and Kyle Seevers, a 6' 6" four star rated QB prospect who decided not to play football because of repeated injuries to his shoulder, and Matt Schweitzer who was greyshirted this fall. 04-bow
