The Bulls will play host UConn in the second round of the 2k Sports Coaches vs Cancer tournament tonight in Storrs, CT. The game will be televised on ESPNU at 9pm EST and the winner will advance to Madison Square Garden and the semifinals!
Hopefully both teams will play better than their opening round games yesterday.
Buffalo is a 15.5 point underdog.
It was also announced in the Buffalo News that UConn will play at Alumni Arena next year! This will be the fourth straight season that a Big East team has played at Alumni Arena (Rutgers in '05, Pittsburgh in '06, South Florida this year and UConn next season)
UConn to UB is great news. There was a fear among most at UBFan that after the Pitt game last year no big names would come back for a while. It's good to see UConn step up to the challenge! I love the atmosphere of Alumni Arena when there's a big game.
I hope Buffalo takes it easy on us.

You never know. Buff may be overlooking UConn for the Gardner Webb game in NYC.
Based on their first game though, looks like a lot of the same problems as last year. Too many turnovers and amazingly poor defense. (Reggie's teams used to pride themselves on defense.)
On the bright side, UB may have it's own version of John Edwards. 7 footer Atman has been riding the bench forever, but may be coming into his own this year. And the rumors of Greg Gamble stepping up his game over the summer seem to be confirmed.
I got up this morning and watched a replay of the last 5 minutes of the Gardner Webb- KY game.
Basketball season is here. Life is good!

UB was up 24-19, then UConn went on a 17 point run. Then it went downhill.
UConn was just too big & quick. UB doesn't have the big guys to match up and the guards couldn't hit anything. In the second half, UB missed what looked like fairly easy shots because I think they were hearing footsteps with all the shots that were blocked (I think 16).
Foul descrepancy was pretty wide- UConn was in the bonus very early in each half. I thought some of the fouls looked questionable and one-way, but UConn looked very good.

Yeah, Idaho has to go in there. Until they win a second game, they go behind us-so NIU is 2 and Idaho is 1. Not sure how Maine is in there since they are 1AA(or whatever it is called now).
OK, replace Idaho with Maine, and switch NIU and Idaho.
