Northeastern
Navy
@Indiana
@Western Kentucky

I would not mind having that schedule. Its a made for a bowl schedule.
A lot more competitive than ours this year. Frankly, we'd probably be favored in one - Northeastern. The Hilltoppers 'taint bad at home. I don't think we could stop the Navy option attack although I think we could score. Indiana beat us here -why not there again?

More competitive than 2 Top 10 teams ( WVU and Mizzou) and two bowl eligible Big Ten teams ( Iowa and Indiana ) ? 03-drunk

I beg to differ.
Conaire - is this their basketball OOC schedule? I've watched BSU play most of their FOOTBALL OOC games on the dish this year and could swear I watched them play:

@Nebraska
@Navy
W. Kentucky
@Illinois
@Indiana

The only game I didn't see on TV is WKY.
It's probably BSU's 2008 schedule.

08 football schedule

Thats a very winnable slate. If they take 3/4 then 4 wins maybe 5 in the MAC games gets them bowling. A joke schedule compared to ours this year. This schedule is made for a bowl. I'd love to have it.
It sure won't be ours. I think I've already heard that we will be @ Troy and @ Nebraska. If we continue with the recent trend we'll probably have 2 more away Big 10 games & only have 5 home games for the season.

I'ts almost like we have a suicide death wish.........oh, no - we're just using our football team as an athletic ATM machine. After all that, we'll all scratch our heads on why our team has no confidence. I understand that we have to play 1 to 2 money games, but 4 OCC BCS teams a year is too much, IMO.

This is what drives me crazy about our schedule, our continuned insistence to put profit over victory. I read where gobaseline (who's writing I respect) felt using our tough schedule as an excuse is not warrented. As a coach and former athlete I stongly disagree with his view. Getting your lunch handed to you week after week after week does drain a team's confidence.

Look at Boise State's schedule last year:

BSU 45
Cal St.-Sacramento 0

BSU 42
Oregon St. 14

BSU 17
Wyoming 10

BSU 41
Hawaii 34

BSU 36
Utah 3

BSU 55
Louisiana Tech 14

BSU 40
New Mexico St. 28

BSU 42 Idaho 26

BSU 45
Fresno St. (CA) 21

BSU 23
San Jose St. (CA) 20

BSU 49
Utah St. 10

BSU 38
Nevada 7

BSU 43
Oklahoma 42
Glendale, AZ
Fiesta Bowl

Now, I am not saying that WMU would have gone undefeated, but that's a hulluva a lot regular season than we have, and I think a relatively easier schedule does build confidence.
I used to live out in Fresno and follow the WAC. While you are correct to say that CMU and WMU are the two prostitutes of D-I football, the regular conference schedule against Fresno, Hawaii, Nevada is on average a lot harder than anything we would face in our conference.

It is not right though that Hawaii, Bosie, and Kansas can just schedule cup cakes and go on cruise control into a BCS bowl game. Hawaii is the paper tiger of the bunch and if they crack the top 10, it just proves once again the BCS is a joke.

But I thought Kanas thumped the mighty Chips. 03-shhhh

Troy may be the worst of all scenarios, a team that has limited academic standards that will cheat to win and has a program that athletically could compete w/the big boys. Thats just a bad game to schedule. If you beat them you beat a sun belt team if you lose you lost to a sun belt team. The average fan doesn't understand how athletic that team is.

We need to get a schedule like Ball State. Its unfair to our athletes to not give them a chance to bowl.
Against a BCS team CMU is a cupcake. A big cupcake with frosting and sprinkles on it. So is Western.....what other conclusions are we to draw.

My first conclusion is that you don't do your research

2006- Beat Virginia ACC
2006- Lost to Florida State by a touchdown
2004- Lost to Illinois by 3
2003- Lost to MSU by 5
2002- Lost to Purdue by 4
2000- Beat Iowa
2000- Lost to then 4th ranked Wisconsin 19-7
1998- Beat Vanderbilt SEC
1994- Beat Iowa State Big 12
1988- Beat Wisconsin

Sure we've had our share of lopsided games, but we've never given up 82 points to anyone, or 70 points to a middle of the pack ACC team.

So no, cupcake does not always apply.

Does that make Nebraska a cupcake? They had 76 put on them by a team that is traditionally a cupcake themselves.05-stirthepot
With all do respect, you pretty much have a cup cake mentality if your gonna list your losses. Also you are currently a five point dog at home to a team you are hinting at to be a cup cake. What do you call the team which gets beaten by a cup cake?

I think for 2007 at least, it is sprinkle wishes and frosting dreams for the WMU Broncos.
