EMBARRASING - JUST THINK WE BEAT TOLEDO LAST YEAR. THIS YEAR WE DIDN'T SHOW UP AND THE DEFENSE WAS HORRENDOUS. TOLEDO QB HAD ALL DAY TO THROW THE BALL AND THEIR LINE WAS OPENING UP HUG HOLES FOR PARMALEE AND COMPANY.

EVERYTIME I TRY TO GET EXCITED WITH EMU FOOTBALL, THE TEAM FALLS ON IT'S FACE. NO CONSISTENCY OVER THE YEARS.

GREAT WIN AGAINST WMU THAT PUTS US IN THE MAC RACE AND THEN WE COME OUT COMPLETELY FLAT AGAINST TOLEDO. I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT - NO EMOTION!

NOW IT ALSO APPEARS THAT WE HAVE A QB CONTROVERSY!

BOWLING GREEN GAME WILL BE AN EMBARRASEMENT ATTENDANCE WISE - WHO IS GOING TO COME OUT ON A FRI NIGHT IN THIS WEATHER TO PLAY A MEANINGLESS GAME. I FEEL FOR THE SENIORS BUT I WON'T BE THERE ALONG WITH MY 3 SEASON TKTS. SORRY - BUT FRUSTRATED OVER THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS - JUST CAN'T GET THE PROGRAM TOGETHER.
I will be there, with a heater, lol.

UT has been lighting up everyone with their offense lately. Don't put too much stock in it from EMU's perspective. That was easily the best offense EMU has seen all year - including the team from Ann Arbor! No offense to EMU's RB's, but Parmalee is clearly better than anyone we've got. It also didn't help that EMU, at times, was playing 3 freshmen DB's at the same time. I think Long grew up a little last night. Speaking of Long, this kid looks like he could grow into a LB.

I don't think EMU has a QB controversy. Schmitt showed last night that he's the #1. I wish Genyk had started him. I suspect that Genyk didn't really want to play Schmitt and was hoping that McMahon would be effective against UT poor defense But it didn't happen and Genyk was forced to put Andy in.

What's left to play for? 4 or 5 wins would be nice, especially since BG and CMU are recruiting rivals. Win the last 2 and EMU has a lot of momentum heading into 2008.
I was dissapointed that Schmitt did not start. I read, though, that he was not cleared until Thursday and that the Fresh had got all the practice reps - so I guess it made sense. There is no doubt in my mind who the better quarterback is. It is Schmitt. The fresh has the potential to be very good, but at this stage Schmitt should start without a second thought. The Fresh has thrown 7 or 8 picks to 1 TD. He just has a lot to learn. I wish they would red shirt him to give him another year after Schmitt graduates...

I had the same thought. Red shirt McMahon in 2008 and have Williams be the back up to Schmitt.
