College Basketball season is here!!!

Have any MAC teams begun their exhibition games yet? If so, when, who did you play, and what was the result.

NIU faces off against #17 ranked Aurora University (Div. 3) tomorrow at 7 pm.

We play a second and final exhibition game against #5 ranked Augustana College on Monday, November 5th at 7 pm. Augustana is a perennial Division 3 powerhouse.

Both games should give NIU a good test before our regular season opener at the BTI Tip-Off Tourney at Northern Iowa on Nov. 9-11th. We'll face Northern Iowa, UMass, and Cal-Poly in a three-day span.
We only have one exhibition, against Mercyhurst on Saturday.

The season begins with New Mexico State next Friday!
I tought you wanted to talk tues night FB
We have mighty Hiram on Saturday. They are ranked the #1 D-III team in the county.
We open next weekend at Detroit. Word is we thrashed Michigan in a scrimmage last Saturday before the football game. But don't tell anyone I said anything. 03-shhhh
And, I didn't hear that we beat Michigan in three scrimmages Saturday by 10+ each game.

It felt much better until I learned that Michigan is picked 8 out of the Big 11. Long days since the Fab 5 in Motown.
Toledo plays D2 Ashland Sunday @ 3:30

Don't count out any team coached by John Beilein. 03-shhhh He's been successful everywhere he has been (including Erie County Community College where he coached a young player named Reggie Witherspoon.)
EMU played Northwood University (D2 member of the GLIAC out of Midland, MI) and won by 20. The season starts in earnest next week with Brown (Ivy League) in the Convocation Center on 11/9 followed by Radford (Big South) on 11/11.
Ohio has scrimmaged almost every year Boston College while O'Shea has been at Ohio. As a freshmen, Leon Williams dominated their center and that let O'Shea know he could start him day 1.....4 years later and Leon has started every game since that scrimmage.
Good luck this season to my fellow conference mates. Let's do the MAC proud this season.

Gee, too bad there are no threads about college football...

axeme: In my football-centric mind, I read the thread's title and thought "yep, it's November, now the football season gets really interesting."

5 more hours 'til tip-off. I'm excited!
The Broncos played their first and only exhibition game last night against DIII Tri State (Ind.) and squeaked out a 94 - 54 win.

They have a week to prepare before heading to Eugene, Oregon for the World Vision Invitational where they will face Pacific on Nov. 10, Pepperdine on Nov. 11 and 13th ranked Oregon on Nov. 12.
NIU wins preseason opener against Aurora 87-70. Good start. But we will have to get better if we want to have a chance in the MAC.
Buffalo beat DIII Buffalo State 113-48 tonight. UB forced a whopping 53 turnovers.

We played well. Aurora just shot lights out behind the arc. We needed to disrupt them more on the perimeter. Sean Smith, Jarvis Nichols, Cody Yelder, Mike Hart, and Shaun Logan all played well.

Wow to the score and Wow to the turnovers forced.

Is Buffalo State any good?
