DURHAM, N.C. - Gerald Henderson scored 21 points to lead the Blue team to 69-64 victory and Duke's freshmen trio of Taylor King, Kyle Singler and Nolan Smith combined for 61 points in their first action in front of the Cameron Crazies in the 30-minute Blue-White Scrimmage Saturday at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

King had 17 of his 19 points in the first half as the Blue squad started off hot and built a lead as big as 18 points in the opening stanza. Singler led all scorers with 23 points for the White team, while Smith added 19 points to help the White team make a game out of it in the second half.

Behind four early three-pointers from King, the Blue team was up 27-9 early in the game. An 8-2 response from the White team cut the lead to 12 and it remained about a dozen points for the rest of the half with small runs from both teams.The Blue squad entered the half with a 41-29 lead after shooting 70.8 percent (17-of-24) from the field and 70.0 percent (7-of-10) from three-point distance in the opening 15 minutes of play.

Smith scored seven quick points in the second half and Singler scored the other four as the White team quickly got the lead under 10 points at 48-40 less than four minutes in. After a Henderson three-pointer, the play of the game happened when Jon Scheyer found Singler for a running one hand lob dunk that ignited the crowed and spurred the White team. That play cut the lead back to eight at 51-43 and started a 16-6 run to tie the game 57-57 with six minutes left.

The Blue team quickly built back a five-point cushion with three scores coming from Henderson in the span of three minutes. Henderson hit several key shots down the stretch to pad the Blue team's lead and two key buckets from Greg Paulus, including a three-pointer at 1:36 and a layup with :14 seconds that both gave the Blue team a five-point lead, the final being the last score of the game.

Singler added nine rebounds to his 23 points for the White squad and Scheyer had eight points, seven rebounds and five assists. Lance Thomas scored nine points, while Jordan Davidson had five to round out the White squad's scoring.

Henderson added seven rebounds and four assists to his 21 points, while King added six rebounds to his 19-point performance for the Blue squad. Zoubek had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Senior DeMarcus Nelson scored 10 points and had five boards and Paulus scored eight points with five assists and four boards.

Duke's next action will be when Shaw University will travel over from Raleigh for an exhibition contest. The game will take place Thursday, Nov. 1, at 6:30 p.m. Shaw is coached by former Blue Devil Robert Brickey. Cable 13 will broadcast the game and that broadcast will be available on GoDuke.com's Inside Access package.
