we are on the biggest sports station in the area its a 50000w station that can be heard in like 38 states and canada, we can't get on something bigger, it does not exist.

boise also tends to play lower level bcs schools, not ohio state, mich, Fl state, ect.

I think NIU most years is on par with these Big 10 teams
What part of 1-31-1 don't you understand?

becasue we do not play NU often or at home, or indiana, or purdue, or minnesota. the b10 teams we play get to get wins against the lower b 10 teams, we dont get a chance to. even the b10 bottom feeders get wins against each other sometimes.
lower level teams in a bowl like Oklahoma?
Quote:Wisconsin was the first real offense they have faced since TCU and tOSU last year.

TCU's O was decent at best, and not worthy of being compared to tOSU.

The Frogs dominated on D, and eventually, their O found ways to score.

They never would have made it to that bowl game if they played Ohio State or USC in Game #1

last I checked, they didn't schedule that. We have scheduled upper tier ones regularly.
Boise won. NIU didn't.

Like USF, Boise has gone from point A to B in a relative hurry. We aint there yet no matter who we or they have scheduled OOC.
As much as I'd like to see Novak gone at this point, I have to agree that he is spot-on w his comments.

Expecting NIU to compete w bIG-10 PROGRAMS is absurd. All I ask is that we get a coach who can field a team that is competitive in our league. Of course, by competitive I mean that we win a MAC title once every ten years or so...

yes and NIU beat bama maryland and ISU in one season and was highly ranked. USF will disappear. Its has a *lot* to do with the OCC schedule. If they schedule top BCS teams 1 or 2 times early every year they will not be ranked after losing to them. By playing lower tier BCS teams they have a chance to win those games and get noticed, therefore ranked.

I think your comment should be "to compete with top B10 programs" if we played lower end ones or lower SEC teams, ect we could compete.

+1000 It appears he is looking to find an excuse for the downturn in the program. The buck stops with him.

USF will not disappear. People on this board need to wake up and smell the coffee. The landscape of CFB is changing. There are not the 60 point favorites like back in the 80's. Teams that were never taken serious are now winning big games. USF disappear? Tell that to Auburn. CFB is going to become somewhat like a country club, either get in the game or get out. If the goal is not to compete on the highest level then I think NIU should go back to the 1-AA ranks and call it a day. Either commit to what it will take to compete on the highest level year in and year out or give it up but stop the BS excuses that we should not or can not compete with the likes of the Big 10. This is just another excuse to hide the fact of the pathetic state of the program. Guess North Dakota State should not have scheduled and beat Minnesota.

USF is what we were on 03, they will fade, boise might not for a while. NDSU won a game against a big team good for them so did app state earlier this year, it does happen. Its not a excuse, its reality. App state, NDSU playing D1 every week will fail or even playing high D1 a few times each year they will lose almost every time. Just lke we lose almost every time we play the elite D1 teams. NDSU and app state playing lower BCS teams could compete and win some of those games, especially if those BCS teams play at those schools. We can compete with the B10 as well as half the progams in the b10, we won't win the b10 but we will win a few games in it if we played them on a level field every year. Indiana, minnesota, NU, ect don't win the b10 w/o the stars aligning, same would happen for us, but we would win some of the game in the conference and get bowl games, meaning more $$$$. Schedule 3 or 4 weak OCC games, then beat 2-3 of the bottom feeders of the b10 at huskie stadium and you have 6 wins and a bowl game since they get 7 for the conference. Then you get more $$$ then you get more TV, then you get more recruts, ect. The same applies to the b12.
