Officials.

Let me guess, Big East? 03-banghead

About 3 unnecessary roughness, a bad spot which lot to a punt and a TD (and a fumble on the kick off and another TD).

Very questionable TO by 'Cuse QB once the snap was coming at him.

Not as gross as the UConn game, but Cuse is getting some calls.
This is a very good game. Much better then 17 - 3. Very hard hitting.

I never knew UB was that physical.

Both teams taking injuries.

I'm impressed with UB.

Did we watch the same game? The second unnecessary roughness penalty was a bad call but none of the other things you cite were bad calls. The fumble on the kickoff return was clearly a fumble.
oops. I might have overstated.

I didn't mean to imply that the fumble was a bad call.

I didn't like those unnecessary roughness calls on the UB offensive linemen.
There was only one called on an offensive lineman - the one that I said was a bad call. The others were on defenders. They were borderline, but not what I would say were bad calls.
Can't pin the loss on officiating, though. Tough to win a game if you don't score a touchdown.......and they had their chances. 03-banghead

Too bad for that fumble on the kickoff just before the end of the half. Instead of a chance for a couple deep throws to run out the half, SU got a quick score for what turned out to be the winning touchdown. i.e. (the last one of the game).
The Bulls fought hard, and they seemed more physical than the Orange.

This looks like it could be a heck of a rivalry. The Bulls just need to break the seal. They came close today.

Looking at all the empty seats in the Carrier Dome -- I wonder if the next deal could be a two-for-one, at least. (Wasn't this a three-for-one?)

Yes. But Warde Manuel doesn't want two-for-ones. He wants bodybag games. And SU doesn't have the money to buy a home game.

I didn't like a couple of those roughing calls at all. I'm not blaming that for the loss but I saw 'Cuse pile on a few times after whistles and no call. Some huge lineman just piled on tiny Brett Hamlin (UB WR) after a catch and no call? If they're going to call unnecessary roughness tight them call it for both sides.

Otherwise I predicted a close loss and it came true. SU still has better athletes on both sides of the ball but UB has made huge strides from where this game was a few years ago.
