Would you guys conceed we would be about a 6 - 9 point favorite if we were to play this Tuesday? I mean games against teams who live north of Iowa aside, we are killing people right now. You guys on the other hand are having these epic games of inches that hinge on one or two big plays.

I think it would be CMU -2.5

I know the home team is always worth like 3 points in spreads, so I would say somewhere in the 2-3 range with CMU being the favorite is probably accurate.

Odds are 3-1 that Butch would dump the Gatorade on his own players if they lost.

Odds are 1-1 that Arrowhead would personally get down on his knees and kiss Dan Lefevors buttcheeks if they win here.

Odds are 2-1 that Tom Mehal will sit in the Waldo Stadium press box pretending to be a journalist, before being removed for openly cheering for his team.

Odds are 3-1 that a significant portion of WMU males will catch an STD from some horsefaced Chimp dolly (even they look good after 6 beers)

Odds are 5-1 that more than 1/3 of the Chimps coming to Kalamazoo will get lost trying to find the stadium on Stadium Dr.

Odds are 1-1 that Arrowhead secretly dreams of getting down on his knees and kissing Fevors buttcheeks.

So last year Western beat NIU, and you lost to NIU, therefore should have beaten you?

Last year you squeeked by BSU at home 18-7. Western beat BSU at their place 41-27. So using those comparisons, clearly Western was the better team.

Western's offense yielded 45 yards in the second half vs. NIU. CMU's yielded over 500 yards in offense to NIU, and gave up a 157 yards to Justin Anderson. The score does not reflect that NIU had the ball deep in CMU territory only to fumble it away. Domination? Hardly.

There is one trigger in this series that seems to make a difference. Who has the home game. CMU has not won at Waldo in 16 years. If you were bringing in a juggernaut it would be one thing, but you're bringing in a team that got waxed by a D-1AA team (yeah yeah we know, they'd beat every team in the MAC).

Now I realize you're homeless these days, and that the kool-aid drinkers on CI don't want you, and the folks on your new, although directionless forum, aren't real fond of you either. I feel for you, but we cannot take on anymore CI refugees here. We can barely feed the ones we have now.

I am told by the old timers that the home field advantage is only a recent invention and that Central has won many times at Waldo in the past as long as it brought the better team to the field on game day--which was often (so I am told).

Nahhh, these sports forums started about 8 years ago, and from the minute they started the Northern Lowers have shot their mouths off about how they'd kick our ass. Didn't matter the records, or the odds, they were about as realistic as you'd expect from a bunch of "corn fed white boys" (the words of the immortal Butch Jones) from north of Lansing.

Since then they're 3-5. So we're used to this. We tend to wait till the games are played, and the Hayseeds from Peeville start spouting off regardless. We fully realize you folks can't help yourselves, so you need not apologize.
