Temple, in order to claim that they are making a breakthrough, needs to win this game. Otherwise they have not improved. Being close but going 1-11 in no improvement from last year. Akron has a lot riding on the game, but should not take Temple lightly. Compare the UCONN scores. I see this as a close game, Akron having the home edge, but not a garaunteed win.
It's going to be close but I think Akron will take the win. I will also make the argument that Temple has improved over last year even if they don't win another game this year. To equal last year's win total with this young of a team is not to shabby. Furthermore, if you cut Temple's penalties in half they would probably be 3-3 at this point. I think youth and some questionable coaching has hurt them from progressing so far this year but I also think Temple will pick up at least 1 more win before this year is out.
I say Temple by a TD 20-13 (no Phlash, this is not an attempt to kiss :moon2:) 03-wink
Neither team has a grat offense and both appear to have respectable defenses. Special teams seems like advantage Akron. Throw in home field and the Zips' finding improbable ways to win, and I'll take the Zips, 24-17.

TU's special teams this year might be the worst I have ever seen and that's taking into account some pretty bad Temple teams going all the way back to 1995 when I first became a fan.
I think Temple has a little let down after last wks win. Akron has more to play for & is at home.
I think that Temple is capable of upsetting anyone in the MAC this year, but this weekend is Akron's homecoming. The Zips have been tough at the Rubberbowl and should be favored going into it. I think the Zips will win 31-14.
Folks who know understand Temple won the UCONN game and are in reality 2-4. Only Mikey T. and the blind bats of the Big Least stole the game for the Huskies.

This should be a close game. The Owls are playing better ball each and every week. I think Temple may just get their 2nd MAC win, TU 21-Akron 20. GO OWLS!!!

Yes, but does it take into account the 2006 Bowling Green Falcons?

Akron could, could look past Temple, but they have to know how important a win is here. A slight letdown by Temple (after securing that elusive first win) and a big HC high for Akron puts intangibles in the Zip column. Selfishly, I'd love to see an upset (because it would help the Falcons), but I expect the Zips to notch a win.
TEMPLE WINS!!!!

WIN STREAK ROCKETS TO 2!!!!!!

FINISH 7 & 5 - BOWL ELIGIBLE!!!!
As evidenced by our finish in last weeks game, I don't think these Zips let down. Defense comes back......UoA wins 31-10
The Owls are over the hump and Daryl Robinson has a coming out party hosted by the Temple OL. Offense is unleashed for 1st time as DeLeone has been playing possum until we get into the meat of the MAC East slate.

That'll be the key for Temple the rest of the way. That unit has struggled this year.
even though i am a zip fan this game will probably be close.i will just be happy for the win period.we are coming off a huge emotional win,and temple won last week.temple is good enought to win this game, and akron is not good enought to look past anybody yet.if i was a betting person i would stay away from this game.hopefully temple will win a few more games this year, and will help build there program.just hopefully not this week.akron 28 temple 26.

I do think that most folks see it as less than a 10 point spread. A good close game NOT decided by referees would be my wish.
I agree. I see the zips winning as long as they avoid being the most penalized team in the country like last year. (note nat. champs Florida was the second most) My fear is they overlook the Owls.
Zips 30
Owls 24
i heard the indians and boston is at 8pm.the akron temple game is 6pm.this will kill attendance.im not sure much akron could do about it.
maybe they could have changed the time to 3pm? i don't know how much of problem to change the game time that late in the season.any thoughts?

I shorted the Owls by 3 points. The final was TU 24- Akron 20!!!!!!!!!!!!

Choke on that ZIPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look Out Miami!!!!!!!!!! You are next!!!!

GO OWLS
I think we'll be ready for the Owls and won't be taking them lightly.....we were sure ready for the Falcons today!
