7-0 CMU

Looks like there's 10,000 people in that place.

For a team that has a winning record and a pretty good team where is the support for BSU?

NIU sucks this year and we'll probably have at least 25k next weekend.
CMU up 14-0 near the end of the first quarter.
Make that 14-7 CMU
28 - 17 CMU over BSU at the end of the first half. So far the Chips defense is holding the BSU offense to one TD and 5 stops.

The CMU offense has been stopped once, at the end of the half, by a tipped ball interception.
Go BSU!
BSU and BG exposed for the "pretenders" they are.

I have said for years that no polls should come out until October at the earliest. Too hard to get any kind of gauge on who is for real and who isn't until then.

At any rate, I am glad the Chippewas got to expose one of the teams. Never expected a CMU rout. 04-rock

51-24 CMU in 4th Qtr.

Not sure why you are saying BG is a pretender. They played terrible today, but it was against the #7 team in the country on the road.
I guess I hope everybody thinks we are pretenders and overlooks us.
Looks like Wisconsin is going to join the Pretender ranks. They are down big to Illinois late in the game. Big Ten may only have one good team in the bunch this year - OSU.

So really, anybody who loses today is a pretender?
You have a strange perspective on college football.
CMU has been off the radar but no longer with a 3-0 MAC start.
Q. for the Chip fans: "Who was that out there wearing your colors and what did you do with the team I've watched for the last few weeks?"

A thorough dismantling of the Cards in their house. Impressive. Looks like CMU has righted the ship and now everybody will be chasing them in the West.
Worst of all, everyone has known since LAST YEAR that we have trouble defending scrambling quarterbacks. LAST YEAR.

What have the coaches done to fix the problem? Nothing, it seems.

We still have a chance to finish with a winning record for the first time in a decade, but we are not healthy enough, mature enough or talented enough on defense to make the jump and win the MAC.
MileHigh, IMHO, we have suffered from a small senior class (lack of leadership), the bumps associated with a rookie coaching staff, injuries, and perhaps some complacency. Not to mention the fact that we played Purdue and Kansas, which are both still undefeated (we'll see about Purdue today).

The NDSU game was (barely) played by a CMU team that showed up sans anything resembling emotion or intensity. I guess that butt-whipping from a well-coached and physical Bison squad was what we needed. LeFevour and others have assumed the leadership mantle, Butch and his staff have made needed adjustments, and a plethora of young players, including several true freshman, are coming along nicely. Also, we got back some members of our starting secondary today and rediscovered our pass rush.

I don't know if we got Ball State's "A" game today, possibly not, but we were the better-prepared, better-conditioned (120 degree heat index on the field today...whew! 03-phew ) and sharper team, and we won our first road contest of the season going away. Looks like CMU/WMU in November will be for all the marbles again this season. As it should be! 04-rock
We still have a ways to go - playing only our second MAC game tonight. Then at NIU and home for BSU. If we get through those games holding up our end of the deal, then the Weeknight ESPN2 game will be huge.

I hope it plays out that way - and no rain this time....and no getting "hosed" by ESPN again.

Despite today's whipping, it will be interesting to see how CMU fares in the rest of your road games even though most of them will not impact the MAC West race. That Clemson date is starting to look intriguing to me. Can the Chips stay competitive?

Don't know yet. Our best shot at a NC win is next week against Army. If we win that one soundly, I'll get back to you.
