Football money wasted on useless and over produced propoganda

Money that should have been spent on football.

I thought it was extremely well done, comparable to major D1 marketing productions. A strong marketing plan--and this is just one piece of that--is critical to long term success.

And most importantly, IT WAS DONE IN HOUSE... Apparently some of you forget that the BSN is ran by students, and that piece, while it doesn't appear to have been done by a student (but if it was then hell of a job), isn't going to cost the school a fortune. Let the university continue to put the other pieces of the puzzle in place, let these other facilities be built, and when mutt and jeff retire, then make the effort to get football back.
On a personal note, I'm just going to say it's came a long way from "Practice Makes Perrfect" and bad audio because of pisspoor technology...
As unhappy as I am with our current state, I'm not so unhappy that I can't compliment something that ETSU has actually done right. '

How do you say it was done right when it effectively tries to make David Mullins out to be a God?

Not even Steve Pederson would try to get away with sticking his face at the center of his athletic program the way Mullins did in this one.

The message is clear- I'm a guy with an overinflated ego who has his own athletic agenda and I'm going to push it through even if nobody else wants it and it is counterproductive to the University and community.

Because, after all, I"M THE BOSS!

Have you ever seen an athletic director try to take such a visible role?

The only one I can possibly think of is Vince Dooley, because I remember him doing some PSAs when he was the AD at Georgia.

But he was a legitimate spokesman. He was a name before he did the PSAs.

Mullins uses the used car ads and videos like this to try and show "Look what a powerful man I am!"

A true leader doesn't need to resort to such cheap tricks.

Thanks Fan1 for keeping the football push out there. There should be more reminding the fans that every other peer school in Tennessee is playing football and have no plans to cut anything. They are doing it and meeting all their obligations and compliance issues and are affording it. Mullins has had a free ride on the "affording" issue and I hope the local press will bring out articles detailing how these other schools are successfully playing football.

Don't hold your breath for the local media, the BFFF had to take out paid ads in order to "break" the stories they didn't want to report. Front page news that came out a month late - right about the same time the ads started appearing. The only way I can see getting football back is losing Stanton and getting a petition and some money together to take to the next president.
