Parents name their kids some stupid names but this one is pretty bad since it is named after a baseball field where the home team consistently chokes every year. And people wonder why some kids hate their parents.

Quote:CHICAGO (AP) - His parents say he can go by his middle name when he's old enough to decide. For now, the newborn will be known by his first name: Wrigley.

And his last name: Fields.

His parents are Paul and Teri Fields of Michigan City, Ind. They are - no surprise - fans of the Cubs, who have played at Wrigley Field since 1916. The Fields planned the name for years before their son's birth.

Wrigley Alexander Fields was born Sept. 12 at an Indiana hospital.

Cubs spokeswoman Katelyn Thrall said the name may be a first. The team has no record of other children named Wrigley, although there have been some children names Zambrano and Ryne after Cubs stars Carlos Zambrano and Ryne Sandberg.
This kid is going to end up a serial killer due to that name.
Is his middle name "ESPN"?
You can just leave out stupid when talking about Cubs fans. It's already implied.
still not worse than naming your kid after UAT, but yes a little odd. however, why root for any other MLB team right now?

My Yankees are never out of it.

Now you are getting into stuff that I just don't keep up with anymore. For me, baseball has gone from a sport that I once watched religiously to occationally watching the highlight real shown on sportscenter. I still watch my Yankees every now and then, but truth be told, I really don't care that much for baseball anymore. Steroids, performance enhancing herbs, over-inflated egos, spitting on umpires, bat weilding maniacs attacking the mound, and God knows what else these spoiled children do now have ruined my love for the game. I will still enjoy going to a Red's game (my family's hometown) and the occasional Barons game with my family but I just don't care anymore.

But it still is fun to hear about how the Cubs fans are getting excited again only to have their hopes crushed when they choke.03-lmfao05-stirthepot
I'm glad one of us keeps up with the game and actually cares about how his team is doing. and in case you missed it, while the yankees have clinched a tie for the wild card, they did lose last night to the Blow Jo, I mean Blue Jays.

I am not the only one who has written off baseball. Just look at the stands during the games. Lots and lots of empty seats no matter what game. Not like it used to be. Until baseball gets a handle on drugs, egos, and salaries; many people and ex-fans will continue to shy away from the game.

not at wrigley, us fans just set a new attendance record for the season. as well as record attendance for 3 and 4 game series. we don't have those issues. we don't have any drug users (anymore), large egos, and no luxury taxes that still don't buy us world series titles. we finally started paying some money and we are winning. cubs fans rejoice, next year is here.
During the season before things start getting close to post season play, most of the games are nowhere close to sellouts. The only teams that have "fans" attend now are the ones that may make it into post season play and teams that have players that may break some record. It is not what it used to be, at least when I was growing up and I am not that old. Granted there are a few teams that have a large loyal following of fans every year regardless of their standings (Yankees, Braves, Cubs), but the majority of baseball fans are tired of the items I mentioned earlier. Baseball needs a fix quick.
Changed the title to reflect the one fool the article was about. Not saying that all Cubs fans are stupid. I have a good friend who is a die hard Cubs fan and he and I laugh about all the jokes Cubs fans get about disappointment and the Yankees get about paying for championships. Good times.
Maybe Alabama will allow gay marriage just in time for Wrigley Fields and Saban Jones (or whatever) to fulfill their destiny.
Empty seats in MLB stadiums? MLB set a record for attendance this year...several teams have set new attendance records this year....where are you getting the "empty seats" thing from?
Marlins games.
TMcCarty Wrote:Marlins games.

as well as Braves games, Blue Jays, Pirates, Reds, Devil Rays...

the teams that are usually on tv don't have too many open seats
Maybe baseball has turned the corner with all the appropriate actions that they are taking towards drugs and such. They just haven't turned me back yet. Most of what I am saying is my emotional opinion and the few times I have flipped through the channels and seen a couple games where the stadiums looked half empty. My interest hasn't been anywhere near what it once was, so I have been too tired and lazy to actually do some research on the matter. Baseball was in a sad and sorry state for me to reach that level because I was once a die hard baseball fan that would watch any game regardless of the teams just to watch the sport.
