Box Score
  • Larry English is a monster. 5 sacks, 12 tackles, FF, FR, TD, what else can you say? He showed us the explosiveness he did last year. 6 sacks in 4 games
  • Big ups to Matt Simon. 4 catches, 115 yards, TD. In a year where the recievers have been awful, he stepped up and had a huge game. The fact he was on crutches at the end makes me VERY concerned.
  • Justin Anderson is a stud. Plain and simple. He is a man on the football field
  • Congrats to John Hopkins on picking up his first career sack, in his first career game.
  • Chase Carter's pick 6 was a huge play. Dan Keller actually tipped the pass, and it was a HUGE momentum switch.
  • Dan did an above average job. 10-17, 168 yards, and 2 TDs. However once again, we had the game in hand deep in Idaho territory and he throws a pick. Can't do that.
  • Hey, Britt caught a TD. Then proceeded to drop the onsides kick. Smooth
  • The defense gave up too many points, and even more yards. BUT, they found a way to make plays. 6 sacks, a FR, and 3 picks. Also they FINALLY stood up and made a play to save a game at the end.

It was ugly. It was giving me flashbacks of SIU and EMU. However, they hung on and won, on the road. Maybe this will get them over the hump and get past the blowing game things. Hopefully Simon is alright, because or WRs are bad. Oh, and we need to find a new KR. George was real bad.

A win is a win.
Real impressed with English, Simon, and Anderson. Besides the pick, Nicholson was good.

Yeah, I've stated my negatives on other threads. Let's just leave it at that.
English could be a linebacker prospect in the NFL....good stuff!
I was impressed with our defensive backfield, well the cornerbacks anyway. Idaho must have attempted at least a half dozen deep balls where the corner was with the reciever stride for stride...and I know you won't believe this but I actially saw our safties on the backside assisting on the deep routes over the top too on occasion.
Finally a post with nothing but positives!
Andy Dittebenner (sp??) must have really started eating his veggies this past off-season....because his punts today looked outstanding...great distance and decent hang time....I know the one punt was returned for a touchdown....but it was 102 yards....and Andy damn near caught him in the end. Kudos to Andy.

Until the 4th quarter when we left too many receivers wide open. We were lucky to win this one. Offense was pathetic overall with some flashes of good football. Our pass coverage was really bad in the 4th quarter.Tranchitella got beat. The middle was left open with what seemed to be confusion over assignments. Thank god our D line managed to save our butts more than once.
