based on the first 3 weeks (25% of the season)?

Good news:

I don't know which team or teams are the worst in the MAC.

I'd be a little hesitant to go off on Toledo or Temple or NIU.

I don't see a truly bad team.

I do see some 0 - 3 teams, though.

I can't believe I'm saying this but Ohio is 2-1 with their only loss being at Va Tech. They held their own today. 1 of their wins was on the road (road wins always good) with the other being against pukey Gardner Webb.
How about we wait until all of us have played a MAC opponent? Pretty hard to judge this early.

while i (and presumably other Bobcat fans) appreciate the comments made by Frozenbaugh, i must agree with MileHighBronco's comment about waiting until we have all played against MAC competition. we all have a lot of football to play, and luckily so since i love to watch it! 03-cloud9
It's still pretty early to be having this discussion. That being said, I think BUGS deserves to be part of the discussion. For that matter, Buffalo looks ready to make a little noise. I agree Ball State has done the most of any MAC West team so far.
my opinion

MAC West - Western
MAC East - BG

should be a good MAC Championship game :)
Ohio and Western Michigan are the class of the MAC, regardless of early season records. Mark it down.

I agree with this too, however based on the first three weeks I think Buffalo, BSU, Miami (OH) and KSU are going to contend with Ohio and WMU in the upper class of the MAC.
Miami just got smoked by 37 at home by a team playing with their #2 QB. The only thing the RedHawks are going to contend for is the basement of the East. Buffalo may be better than Miami.
They beat BSU at home didn't they? I think you're underestimating how good of a team and how well coached Cincy is. Nonetheless, we won't know how good anybody is until the first couple weeks of conference play.
My take is that Ohio showed today that they can play a good game on defense vs a top 25 team on the road. Bobcats had zero turnovers and hung around until the offense got burried inside the 20 all second half and had to go ultra conservative to avoid a bad turnovers. This let to 3 and outs for Ohio and Va Tech wore down an exhausted Bobcat defense. Bobcats had injuries and bloody noses by the time the game was over, but they made Va Tech play their #1 for 4 quarters. The offensive line play a poor game today with penalties and poor blocking. Va Tech is a very good defense and #9 on Va Tech played like an all-american with big play after big play. watched the game on 360 and the anncoucers was thinking Ohio was a D-AA school and talking about Appalchanian State and the 65 scholarship and staying that was why we got tired. The problem was Ohio's O-line made bad penalties and failed to open holes for MCrae and move the chains. The QB Bower played a good game. He didn't make the dumb pass. Ohio had a couple linemen go down, so we may have to see how that impacts the team long term. Bobcats didn't back down from Hokies as things got a little chippy in the 4th quarter as teams were shoving after some plays. Would have been better if the Bobcats line shoved as much during the play as after it. Bobcats played a very talanted QB today. Taylor is every bit the hype and he played a great game for his first college start. As for the MAC its still a toss up. Ohio, Kent State, Akron, BGSU, Miami, Buffalo, and even Temple today showed they can play a nice ball game. MAC west is a gonna be a tossup because CMU, WMU, Toledo play absolutely zero defense. They give up points and the game is over by halftime. NIU and EMU can't score. Ball State may be turning the corner, but they have to protect home field.
