I knew it as soon as I saw we were in FG position.

with that crazy punt formation that EMU was using, I was suprised we didn't block any punts.

It wasn't blocked. Nendick botched the kick and it was a line drive right into our lineman.

Honestly, no. I thought we had all the momentum and with a Lou Groza nominee kicker i thought we were gonna win it 22-21. Nendick had nailed two long 40+ yarders earlier in the game.

I also knew we were going to miss that kick. It is very seldom you see teams win games they dont deserve winning. Today was a game we didnt deserve to win.

The distance likely caused Nendick to need more a line drive kick than a more traditional FG.

He may have overcompensated.

No holdings penalties and NIU escapes in a game they clearly did not deserve to win with a makeable FG.

We snatched defeat from the jaws of victory and were outplayed at home by one of the weaker MAC teams.

Did SIU deserve to win after being dominated for 3 quarters? I thought we were going to pull this one out, but NIU has a way of letting your hopes down almost every time the game is close and on the line.

Coaches are not setting expectations and developing players into a situation where they can succeed.
