From your own personal experiences and what youve heard, how would you guys rank the illinois schools as far as parties go? Ive heard so many different opinions on this, i was just wondering what some of you students/alums thought about this and where NIU stands as far as showing your friends from home a great time. From what ive heard, Southern is pretty good, and so is U of I...oh and ISU...i dont know, so many different opinions!
Ive heard WIU and SIU are really poor academically and just known for partying, so they are probably 1a 1b.

i would probably become an alcoholic if i lived in macomb too, so i guess your guess makes sense

You need to open up your eyes.

SIU used to be a pretty big party school, but they've cracked down on it. A lot. You can still find parties, but seriously, what college doesn't have parties?
Western was pretty fun when I went down last year....To me, it seems like all the state schools are pretty much even, I've been to WIU, EIU, ISU & UofI but haven't been to SIU yet.
I'll just say UofI during unofficial takes the prize, but other than that its pretty damn close w/ WIU on top

Im not sure you can include U of I, they have kind of an unfair advantage since noone attends football games.

43,445 per game last year. By far the best in the state. Northwestern was second with 28,000. Pretty sure they set a school record for season tickets this year.

Just an ignorant, ignorant post.

44,000 last week against WIU following a 2 win season. How many do you think were WIU fans?

A lot of their crowd that seems to show up is alums and older people. When i went down to U of I during their Homecoming weekend none of their students cared about football.

Saturday night opening game...that is more like your "Im-a-freshman, and-gee-the-llini-has-a-football-game-tonight-lets-go-see-what -thats-like" kind of crowd

When you find some actual evidence to back up what you are saying, come talk to me.

Illinois played the well known traveling fan bases of EIU, Syracuse, Ohio OOC last year.

Lets take a look at game by game OOC last year attendance.
EIU: 45,444
Syracuse: 40,657
Ohio: 40,152

Yep, it's those big 10 visiting fans filling up Memorial Stadium.
As far as partying is concerned, i think most Illinois schools are pretty much the same. Eastern Illinois students go to U of I to party, mostly because you can get into bars at 19 but also because there is nothing to do at EIU. Macomb where WIU is situated is a very small town. Nothing to do out there and where are the students suppose to go for entertainment so they probably party hard. U of I has Green Street which is nice because everything you need is on that street. It would be nice if we could turn Lincoln Highway into something like Green Street but that will never happen since DeKalb citizens dislike NIU so much. I don't know anything about ISU or SIU. SIU has always had that party school label attached to it, for good or for bad. I would just like to see more bars on Lincoln Highway. Molly's and Fatty's isn't enough. Then there is Starbusters which i've never cared much for because they charge cover. Reilly's is nothing but sorority and fraternity people. Then the bars in the downtown area are townies. Lincoln Highway could use about 3 more college bars, but DeKalb would never let that happen.
03-lmfao Hahahahahahahaha, two years of this and he's STILL suckering you in. 03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao

No it's more like:
"Gee.. I'm a freshman.. too bad I can't get tickets to the game because the waiting list is so long. Maybe I can get in as a sophomore if I win the raffle."

They have over 40,000 students. None of the people i talked to said anything about their Homecoming football game or went to it. Their student section, from that photo, is smaller than NIU's.

What the hell are you talking about? Do you go to Illinois? How many Illinois students did you survey for this poll?

And if you think Illinois' student section is smaller, then well, you're just not very smart.
