Dan can reduce his mistakes. Having two picks returned is unacceptable. Without them, it was a laugher.

also, TURNOVERS!!! we need to make plays.
If....

1)Joe retires
2)we get a new QB
3)upgrade our WR corp

sounds harsh but it appears the other MAC teams are catching on to our predictive system. A change would probably do the program some good.
Not to keep beating a dead horse but we hire a Lee Corso or someone not committed to the program and then what? Or we bring in a recruiter like Rob Judson to reel in the Chicago talent and then what? The grass is not always greener on the other side.

True, we have not won the MAC.
True, we seem to be a program in decline.

How can you decline if you are at rock bottom? Since we aren't at rock bottom and the program is stable, give it a little time. We are all emotional and upset over the lost to 1AA SIU, but that does not mean it is OK to take the volume of pot shots at Joe like some posters. We can still pull out a respectable 6-6 season. We just need to have a little more patience with the younger players until they quit making all the dumb mistakes. It is not all their fault that they don't know how to dominate OL and DL play yet.
Fair or otherwise ,head coaches most everywhere like QBs eventually bear the brunt of their own good or poor decision making whether on or off the field.

Occasionally the criticism is informed and accurate. Many other times it's unfounded, inaccurate and uneasonable. I'm real unsure about which is which right now.

I'm just now mustering the courage to watch the recording of SIU-NIU. At least I can fast forward the endless delays & commercials plaguing the debacle.

Go Huskies. Beat Hurons.

Gotta believe Dr. Jim Phillips would get a great coach for our university. Risk is always there

Ok. Here is the thing -- good running teams with 21 point leads and the ball in the secong half do NOT lose games. They run the ball down the other team's throat. They eat clock, and make it impossible to come back. That is what we have done in the past, and we didn't do it Saturday. I'm not sure we even tried to do it. It looked to me like the coaches treated it like a scrimmage, and rather than coaching to win, were satisfied to "try things" until it bit them!
It didn't get any better watching the replay.

Our D in final two minutes - especially in secondary - was like watching Akron game all over again.

There is only one way to lose the game and that's by not defending the end zone fully and allowing receivers to get past all defenders.

Analysts Bob Cmiel was in a lovefest with Nicholson and Novak most all game long.

Nick Hill was eventually IMO the difference & most valuable player Sat nite.

At least Kenny McRenolds did not hurt the telecast.

Yep. Exactly right.
