....at Michigan , ND, Iowa State, Toledo and NIU would all be experiencing similar feelings and thoughts after two weeks of football , and it would be a bad thing?

Then we have these results to digest:

Northern Iowa (AA) beat Cyclones.

Iowa shellacked 'Cuse 35zip.

USF Bulls beat Auburn

TROY was down 49-7 at the half to Gators.

Boise rocked & 0-13 vs BCS on road. .........must be the blue carpet.

Go figure.

Funny how teams we have played in the past, i.e. USF are so far ahead of us. It definitely shows the right leadership can take you places no one thought you would be able to go. USF has only had a program a bit over 10 years and are so far ahead of us.

Florida has a LOT of great athletes - you look at top 25 teams and almost all probably have a starter from the state of Florida. That is good for USF as a lot of these great athletes want to stay somewhat close to home.
so true...but you cannot overlook their re$ource$ compared to NIU and playing/recruiting in a HS football hotbed in a city like Tampa as advantages we can only admire.

True some want to stay close to home but when I was 18 I was sure ready to go far away from home. Athletes will go where they can play and be successful. Winning is what they want to do. We have recruited Florida in the past and should continue to beef up efforts there. There are plenty of athletes in Florida to go around.

we have recruited a few players from Florida and many have not even made it through the program....perhaps this is why we have not focused recruiting efforts down there?
FLA has denfinately been mostly a two edged sword in most instances for NIU.
