Game should have been won 31-7. 2 Interception TDs!!! That tipped TD pass was a fluke, though. But then not to cover an onside kick -- inexcusable. What did they make 4 4th down conversions late?

No depth due to lack of talent and this is what you get. Get used to it because it will be a long year.
Absolutely pathetic. Wow. Was the defense tired at the end of the game? I noticed that the defense was tiring late third quarter of the Iowa game. If we don't improve we won't go 6-6.

6-6? We will be lucky to go 2 -10..
To be fair on the defense, there was a fair amount of Saluki luck there. Not only the tipped pass (which was just bad luck) but all those 4th down conversions. Some bad luck.

Blame this one on the interceptions and not covering the onside kick, plus the offense not making it on 4th and 1 foot.
Gumb question, but what happened? I literally lost my DIRECT TV signal at about 2 minutes to go, NIU up 31-21. The picture comes back AND THEY HAD LOST
that was incredibly horrible luck..the d was put in bad spots, and nicholson's inconsistency is a joke...i pin this loss on him, he gave them 14 points.

I blame this on one thing. A Pure lack of talent and depth on the team. The recruiting has sucked as a whole and you saw it tonight and unfortunately will continue to see it all year and beyond. A loss like this kills recruiting.

All those 4th down conversions?? That's not bad luck..that is a tired defense being worn down series after series without the ability to get key stops.
Once again Novak's team finds a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
It's hard to take away any positives from this game. Both offense and defense failed to execute at critical points in the game and SIU looked like they wanted the game more in the 4Q than we did. They got a lot of breaks that went their way, but a good (or at least better) team finds ways to overcome that. Now I know why we were picked 5th in the MAC.

SIU having had 3 tipped passes that saved drives including the final TD and the lame duck pass that also got completed and a onsides revovery are due to a lack of talent? If I was SIU I'd be playing hte lottery tonight with the luck they were having.
It pretty muched seem SIU was running their O on air....Db's were terrible...

That's a signature staple for a Joe Novak squad.
Will our defense ever get an interception?
Reiter got outwrestled and Allen dropped one.
Even SIU's last touchdown should have been a pick.
Why was Fontana in at the end with the game on the line. He's probably the third or fourth SS that should have been on the field. Speaking of Safety, is Pruitt a SS or a corner or what. Im sick of him moving around...play one position!!!
How come Melvin Rice never turns around?
He is a pass interference call waiting to happen.
