Compliments of a UofL board.

West Virginia: 60,563
Rutgers: 43,091
Louisville: 42,185
Syracuse: 40,329
Pitt: 36,183
USF: 33,639
Cinn: 20,223
UConn: N/A

I'd say that's about what we expected for most schools. I won't be surprised if the Syracuse attendance goes in the tank after the opening debacle.
UC could be looking at about 30,000 for the Oregon State game. The Louisville and West Virginia games are looking like they're going to be easily over 30,000 and even Marshall is looking to be close to that mark. So at least we're building a consistent fan base.
we need those stadium expansions, pitt's attendance is terrible for an opener. i know their home slate isn't very attractive and they couldn't sell season tickets but still.

That's just they way the Pitt fanbase is. Pitt has a solid fanbase of around 30k that will usually show up no matter what. However, there are really low expectations for this team and there is no buzz at all to attract the non 'diehards'. Many were surprised it was even 36k for EMU. I will be surprised if the attendance for Grambling is above 30k.
Pitt has traditionally had fair weather fans. If the Panthers are strong, so are the crowds. But not otherwise.
If Pitt does well in the first half of the season, the crowds will improve. Syracuse and USF should draw well. Grambling, not so much so.
I'm impressed that Rutgers did the right thing and announced the actual in the stadium attendance as opposed to the paid attendance. This week will be a true sellout I predict with students back on campus, how sad it is not to be among that number for the first time.
Someone posted UC has already sold over 22.k for Thursday Nights National ESPN TV game with Oregon St. Not bad if true as the students who actually don't start school until the 19th are not included in this figure. I look for several thousand to walk up and a couple thousand to buy between now and game time. I predict 28 to 30k. If this is the case it will be loud in Nippert and a good showing for TV. Lets hope some students move into the area housing this week. The dorms don't open until 9-15. GO Bearcats! Go Big East! This game is HUGE beat the PAC 10. The Berarcats return the game in 2009 to Oregon St.

Grambling has the best band though... :band:

I imagine that'll go down once all 14 start playing home games. That is a nice average for the 6 home games so far. Perhaps you can convince EMU and the like to not play at home and drag the average towards 15,000?
UC should have considerably more this week, so the Big East average should go up some.
