So.. Who is all everyone now? Reply back with what year in school you are... I'm worried that many are seniors and I will be alone next year =/
I am a senior but I will have a super senior year as well.
We need a solid core of at least 15 people. Between HF38, Bleeds, and I we can't make it to all of these games. Some more people either from this board or friends need to step up and help out. There are way too many games between the Volleyball team (30+ games a season), Men's Soccer team (20+ games a season), and Women's Soccer team (20+ games a season) for me to make them all. I have classes that conflict, homework, or even just need time to relax. We need more people to get involved, willing to hand out t-shirts at games, recruit people, and show up to games. Anyone willing to step up and find these people? Anyone have any ideas on how to find these people?
I'm thinking we need a mass email, especially to freshmen offering them the opportunity to get involved with the planning and administration of the group. How can we go about doing that?

Is it possible to send a facebook message through the Red Riot facebook group to everyone who is a member?
My motive behind this thread was to ask if you guys would mind me bringing in some new people. I have been getting emails from random people, and requests from several friends saying that they would like to be involved... I guess that i will take this reply as a yes then.. lol

Two of them are girls. Both freshman.

That cool with everyone? You can meet one of them at the volleyball game on wednesday if you would like

Yes, i'm very cool with it. If we want Red Riot to succeed and to continue to grow we need more than just us three doing all the work. If you can, try and find some more people too besides just those two girls. We can use all the help we can get.
I made a post update to the Red Riot website. It also includes asking for help with certain duties.
well, i know for sure that i'll be at as many b-ball games and soccer games as i can. plus, why is it that i'm the only Red Rioter attending the gymnastics meets during the winter????? they need our support as much as everyone else does!
oh yeah, i'm technically a senior, but i got another year to go. plus those who know me know i'd be good for the executive board...

Because the athletic dept. boned us. Red Riot is bball only for me.

well, i'm suprised you guys aren't coming... i figured that you'd be into hot chicks wearing nothing but a spandex leotard bending and moving in possibly suggestive ways....

I work during the gymnastics meets, but I would never try to get anyone to go to any sport but basketball to represent the Red Riot. Red Riot is for basketball, no matter what those tarts in the athletic dept. say.

It is going to be very hard to get people to go to gymnastics meets. If we got big enough I would definitely start supporting the Red Riot to 'officially' attend gymnastics meets. The problem right now is that the athletics dpt sends out stupid emails to say that the "RED RIOT" is showing up at "EVERYTHING" and then people go, they are one of 5 people there and they come up with the conclusion that Red Riot is made of 5 people and it sucks, then they don't come to basketball. We made this for basketball. Our mission statement was to increase the attendance of basketball in a positive image for NIU.

As much as I love other sports on campus, its just something we can't support yet. Especially with 3 or 4 people running everything.

We will be holding a Red Riot meeting late next week probably for anyone interested. It will more likely be a little more formal this time around since we are going to be inviting general members to attend the meeting and get involved.... we need more help.
So I know this thread hasn't been touched in awhile but I was wondering how things were going?? I will attend more baseball games than classes after spring break so while I understand this is about NIU basketball there are several of us on the board into baseball......

Unfortunately nothing is really going. We have yet to organize a meeting, delegate responsibilities, or do something more with the group.

we just need more people... I think me and Eric and Ryne would about be the only three to show up.

I had some emails of people who wanted to get involved. We need to transform Red Riot into something more than basketball to generate interest but also to get our name around campus. We need to start organizing community service projects, fundraisers, and other things at games. We can't just be a group of people that are supposed to show up to games.
