the rangers need 13 more runs to set the modern day record of runs scored in a double header. personally i hope they get it, mainly because futility is fun! ®
its also a reason why double headers (the scheduled double headers especially, not this day/night crap) are good for baseball
I just wish Texas could take those 26 runs above the 4 needed for the victory and distribute some of them to other places. As a Rangers fan, it is actually good to see the team break out like this. The Rangers have a lot of very young guys playing right now because we are so far out of contention, and they have been striking out a lot lately. It should be a confidence boost to some of the young or new guys that have been struggling.

I wonder how many teams with sub .500 records have outscored their opponents? I can think of several.
I am surprised that Texas didn't just start striking out or bunting to end the game.
These are high priced athletes that can be injured. The game was won a long time ago.
