I'd look for the Orange Bowl to be torn down at some upcoming point now. If the Marlins stick around, that could be the site for a new stadium.
seems like a no-brainer. The Orange Bowl is falling apart.
Joe Robey will either:

1) Look practically empty or

2) Be covered in Maroon or Scarlet

on Saturdays.
Add it to a long list of stadiums and arenas that are either gone, no longer used by their primary tenants, or soon to be gone...

Yankee Stadium
Cotton Bowl
Legion Field
Tiger Stadium
Texas Stadium
Shea Stadium
Comisky Park
Metropolitan Stadium
Boston Garden
Chicago Stadium
Great Western Forum
And many, many more...

Pitt Stadium
It's ironic that the Orange Bowl (the bowl game) hasn't played at the Orange Bowl (the stadium) since it moved to Dolphin Stadium in 2006.
Eventually in LA they will have to knock down the Coliseum and the Rose Bowl. Nothing last forever.
Even the mountains themselves turn to dust within the fullness of time.

The Cotton Bowl is actually being expanded. The locals and UT and OU fans want to keep their annual match-up affiliated with the State fair, and the games presence plus other events apparently justifies the expansion of the facility to some 90k. The Cotton Bowl game has said it will stick with it's move to the new Texas Stadium, however, because the weather on Jan 1 is more conducive to a covered facility. And, of course, because the fairgrounds hold less appeal when there's no fair! 03-wink

Actually...the FEDEX Orange Bowl Game was moved to Joe Robbie Stadium (Dolphin Stadium...but no locals call it that) back in 1996.

However the 1999 Orange Bowl Game between Florida and Syracuse was moved back to the Orange Bowl Stadium because of a playoff conflict with the Miami Dolphins.

Game has been played back at Joe Robbie ever since...and Joe Robbie Stadium is now going through a $250 Million upgrade to boot.

The 1999 Orange Bowl game was horrible for the fans. I really have no idea why the Orange Bowl hasn't been demolished already. It sucks.
This will allow the City of Miami to keep the Marlins in South Florida. This will give UM a boost in recruiting, attendence, and revenue.
They need some kind of boost right now. They've been dropping off for years.
