Are you tired of dropped calls. I used to be very happy with my Cingular Service. Since the buyout service (and calls) have dropped dramatically.

At&t denies that there has been any change. This infuriates me. I am "test driving" Verizon right now. So far Verizon is running circles around At&t. Looks like I am going to have to make a change but I wish that I didn't.

If you are mad too. Speak Out. Write Andy Wise to see if he will do a story on it. I am so tired of getting screwed.
I've had probably a handful of calls dropped since I've been with Verizon which is going on 2.5 years.
I recently switched from AT&T to Verizon. I was on AT&T/Cingular for a couple of years and had no problems.
Then I had a roommate that moved in that had them for a carrier as well and could not get any signal. So he gets got a new phone and bam! all of a sudden he had all the signal and I had none. After that I moved in with my girlfriend into a different apartment in midtown. She had great signal (Sprint) and I had none but from talking to the neighbors pretty much all the carries sucked in the our building. I ended up changing to Verizon and the signal according to my phone is poor but I can still make and reciever calls in my house which is not something I could do with AT&T/Cingular
I've never had a problem with my AT&T/Cingular/AT&T. People ***** constantly about their cell companies...I've just never seen it.

People also complain about their bank a lot...since the first time I had a bank account I've never had a problem that was the bank's fault. I guess I'm lucky.
It truly depends on the phone you have with cingular/AT&T.... I have had maybe 10 calls dropped in 5 years. The only bad area in town consist of 240/40 interchange out east. It didn't work with my previous company either. I don't even have my calls dropped in the elevator at work.
OK, so it is not just my wife and I having this problem. I switched because we gat a corporate discount and I wanted the pearl, but man it is really bad some days!
i dropped cingular (at the time) because i could not get signal at my house (near fedex world - go figure). im on t-mobile now because costco had a great rate and have had NO trouble at all unless im way out in the boonies on scout trips (kia kima, chickasaw). other carriers seem to have towers out there, but t-mobile doesnt i guess.

Again, I was very happy with Cingular before the buyout. But since then, I get 10 dropped calls a day. The phone doesn't work @ I-40 & Hwy 64. Not @ 385 & Winchester. Not @ Methodist North. Not on 72 gong into Piperton. These areas were not a problem before.

My sister was one of those that dropped her land line about 2 years ago in favor of cell only service. 3 months ago she got a new land line. No service at her house.

Read the forum at At&t website. It is full of complaints all stating a drop in service level since the buyout.

I had cingular for 7 years and never dropped a call- at&t took over and i dropped at least one a day on my cingular branded /cingular sim card blackjack phone.. i raised hell they sent me a new phone that was at&t branded / at&t sim card and I haven't dropped a call since..and I doubt at&t could care less how many report andy (not so)wise does...
Hmmmm
We were always having problems with Cingular. Dropped them like a rock, went to Verizon and have had very few problems. Usually if a call is dropped, its because of the building we're in but otherwise it works fine. I also have a Nextel Blackberry for work that I don't have any problems with either.
I've experiened the same thing since the AT&T buyout. They advertise the fewest dropped calls as Cingular, they're gonna have to change that now.

I was told that the number of users increased dramatically and overloaded the towers, that's why the dropped calls increased.
I have Cingular...it works great...could not be any happier.

I think a lot of it has to do with the phone...I've had a Treo (both models), and a Sync...they've all been outstanding.
I've never had a problem with my Cingular, and I've been on AT&T since..well since back when it was AT&T Wireless before they changed their name the billionth time.

Verizon used to have great service here, but now my Verizon friends constantly complain about having no signal. It's especially bad because our hangout is within visual sight of the Verizon tower--still no service for them.
I used to have Cingular and had problems with dropped calls, I switched to Cellular South and have been very happy with their service. All wireless contracts suck but CS seem to suck the least.
