Normally the games start late at night finish during the early morning hours Japan time. Night games play in the morning our time here.
My two experiences I will remember from last season were waiting through the lightning delay for the Kent State game at 5:30 in the morning and going on a beer run to the local convenience store (they are everywhere here-- many within walking distance) at halftime for Northern Illinois at 4:30. The beer run as the sun was starting to come up was especially memorable because OHIO was still in the game that point and I couldn't wait for the second half to begin so I rushed over and put down three large beer cans on the register counter to get me through the rest of the game with a touch of vigor and the younger guy behind the counter's hands were shaking as he gave me the change. :D Must have figured that was about as hardcore as it gets by Japan standards.

A little bit. They have a pro league with 4 divisions and a lot of colleges have teams. Not many fans though unfortunately.
