At my 20-year high school reunion gathering. It seems he's married to one of my classmates. It also turns out he's related to Motley Blazer, but I'm not holding that against him. We had a nice, long chat about UAB Athletics. In fact, I had a more pleasant, meaningful conversation with him than with any of my former classmates.
It just goes to show that UAB fans are a higher class of individual. I was even more impressed to learn that Leather Blazer never attended UAB, and that he's a loyal fan because he just loves the program. We need more Leather Blazers.

And I neglected to mention that Attalla is among those who never attended UAB and fits that category, but he gets so much recognition on the board, unlike Leather Blazer, that I didn't mention it.
No not fishing for recognition...... I get far too much here. Mine is a long story that will be told one day after I am gone, much like Gene Bartow......

It was a pleasure putting a face with a handle. It just goes to show that UAB blazer fanatics are everywhere and you never know where you might run across one. We are not as prevelant as the Aubies and the Bammers, but our enthusiam runs just as deep. Like Grammar said I never attended UAB but my heart has been with the program since the early eighties. It is my dad's fault for taking to basketball games as child. Watching those Gene Bartow led Blazers always got my blood pumping. Mean Gene would get upset, take that jacket off and slam it to the floor while clearing the bench to light a fire under the rest of the team and I was hooked. UAB UAB UAB GO BLAZERS!!!!!
