Quite frankly, I will now grant 2-1 odds on a straight up wager, Temple vs Kent. Though Brother55 is a sweet, handsome, gorgeous fella, I assure you, I dont accept that he has the market cornered on seperating fools from their money. Since BrotherHammer makes many boasts then slips deeply into the nite, is their one among you willing to buy a $500 QWestern Union Money Order and mail it to an independent souce who will match up vs mine?

No smart answers, just folks with money.

ps...there is no need to ban me, BGSU/Karl, ive grown bored too with this witless board, and you monitor super powers to erase embarrassing exposes, just give me a few more days to get an answer.
If there is a legitamate way to do this, I'm in. Not n the practice of mailing $500.00 to strangers months before a game.
Hey, I figured out how to do this, tp. Why don't we have the loser make a donation to the winner's fan support club? At Kent State, it's Blue and Gold. There must be some organization like this at Temple.

Here's the way it would work. When Kent State wins, you make a donation to Blue and Gold in the name of Flashes Win. I check to see if a donation was made. In the unlikely event the Owls get lucky, I do the same in reverse for you. You can check to see that the donation was made.

I'll even by nice and give you even money at $500.00. I'm in. You?

*snicker* I know Steve talked about "ownership", but I'm not sure if this is what he had in mind. I would have left the bet with phillie steaks and Mike's killer omelettes, but Blue & Gold can always use some extra cash! Hope to see you at the BBQ, Flashfan! 04-bow
Considering the recent scandals between Scooter at Toledo and the referee in the NBA (Philly's finest nonetheless), I find it to be in extremely poor taste to openly wager large amounts of cash on a forum dedicated to discussing young amateurs, especially when some of those posting here are actual players themselves and/or related to active players. Of course I would expect nothing less but poor tase from MH55/templeprophet that share so many traits it is far more than a mere coincidence. So much for being a 'prophet' coming on here and openly sanctioning gambling, and I also see you stopped all that religious babble and are now just acting like the idiot you really are. I'll offer you the same deal I did your alter ego, loser leave town, of course just like your alter ego you'll be banned and long gone before the Kent State -Temple matchup anyway. See you November 17th at the 'Linc!!!

Funny but in almost 900 posts here you can check them all out and I'm sure you won't come up with soooo many boasts like you claim.
The "prophet" gambles, eh?

I agree with FlashFan, I would never send a money order to a "third party" months before a football game, sounds too much like an e-mail scam.
I wouldn't bet on any Temple games this year.......its too unpredictable on how they will fare on a MAC schedule.

Speaking of slipping away, where are you, TP? Are you in?
"I find it to be in extremely poor taste to openly wager large amounts of cash on a forum..."

Of course you do, BrotherHammer but somehow find it in good taste to constantly harangue any posts or threads who support Temple Football. You or any other MAC team thread would not find a single thread where I have barged into a non-Temple related post and ripped the team, its Uni or personally attacked posters.

I reiterate, you're a worm but at least someone has stepped up to stand firm on the earth you slither around in, Flashfan.

Flashfan, here's the proposition: Temple vs Kent Nov 17, no Pt spread
If Temple wins, you must pay $500 toward the XPC Club, the required donation to the Temple FB Club, on behalf of the member I select.
If Kent wins, you tell me who or what entity you want $500 sent to. Its that simple. Its easily verifiable.

How about we donate to the Bill Cosby Sexual Harassment Fund since he's the new funding behind that brilliant program down there in Philthydelphia?

It's a deal. My organization will be the KSU Blue and Gold Club.

You give us too much credit, oh mouthy one. We don't have the authority to ban anyone, only to recommend it to those who DO have the authority. Your persecution complex is misplaced.

And while I noticed that you had changed the terms of your suggested wager to something more like a charitable donation, I didn't consider your offer of a $500 bet in poor taste. I considered it poor judgment, as such activity is illegal in pretty much every state.

Have a nice day.
Goon gate, Chaney, ripping Philly, now The Cos...that's what it always seems to get back to when Temple gets mentioned on this board.

Now that you mention it there IS a fair amount of baggage. I didn't care one or the other about Temple prior to your post but you're right-there are some image problems there.

It wouldn't be that way if people didn't start threads in this forum bragging how great it is to be endorsed by such people.
Having a HOF Coach and a 1/2 billion dollar philanthropist are bad things? I'm sure MACBB would love to have a "goongate" if anyone cared. How bout that MAC Championship ending? Jesusismysavior Christ, no one even cared....not even MAC Commisioner's Office.

As for Philly, I've climbed pulpits all over the world and I keep coming back. I love its vibrancy, its underdog moxy, its charisma. Toledo, Kalamazaoo? why would I bother, like comparing an apple to rusty bottlecaps.

Temple FB will wear diamonds on their collar this year. They will be wearing them when Flashfan pays off, if he is the gentleman he petitons to be.

Prophet:

Just saying that I "erase embarrasing exposes" over and over doesn't make it true. You can stop playing that one-note song.

And I have no authority to ban you. I suspect you have not grown bored with this board and suspect that when Temple has success on the gridirion - and I believe they will - you will be back here to gloat. That's fine by me.

Over and over ? I mentioned it once and I don't care to give you any more publicity...even if it is bad, terrible publicity. As a writer you should have armed yourself with more facts, as an executive editor, you should have much more sense. Perhaps your next executive column will feature aliens descending on Congress...it will probably be more meaningful to your subscribers and possibly, more credible.

btw, my presence here is only noteworthy to objective posters who want to know. A prophet foretells, warns and offers fair notice. Perhaps TempleAnchorMan will encapsulate the horrors of this Fall awaiting unsuspecting football fans at various MAC sites. Only the naive ones who have missed my sermon or ignored my counsel won't be prepared.

i.e.

I was reviewing Travis Shelton's contributions recently. Shelton is TU's All American candidate. What most people dont know is Shelton missed the 1st 5 whole games last year. And he only started in 5 games. Certainly, Travis got some great press and deservedly so but do you, and others know, Shelton is 3rd on the depth chart as fall practices begin. And this is a GAMEBREAKER. Take a look at BGSU. Not having to face Shelton, BGSU would have finished around 75th place in kickoff return yards. Facing Shelton, he dropped them to #112. Same for Clemson and NIU, a signifuicanbt portion of their return yards were attributable to one man, Travis Shelton.

Travis Shelton is on board. Godwilling, he will play ALL twelve games this year and certainly those vs the MAC East...and the NCAA was kind enough to spoyt him 5 more yards to boot! So will Delano Green, Marquise Liverpool, Daryl Robinson and Michael Campbell, 4 receivers who had BCS offers to play somewhere else but chose Temple, as well as those that did a year ago and have gained 15-40 pds of muscle like Marcus Brown, Steve Maneri, Kevin Armstrong, Bruce Francis, Domerio Hamilton, Dyone Crudup, AJ Bunton, Dale Parris, etc, etc, etc

I'm the first to admit I don't follow football much or pretend to understand the intricacies, but isn't it likely that if some player is your All-American candidiate and he is 3rd on the depth chart you have some serious coaching issues?

Every 1-11 team should be so loaded with depth that every All American candidate is stuck on the 3rd string.03-drunk
