First baseman Dennis Guinn will be available for designated hitter duty Saturday and Sunday against Miami, according to Florida State head baseball coach Mike Martin.

Guinn, who is recovering from mononucleosis, has recovered more quickly than expected but still has not be cleared to return to the starting lineup for the Seminoles.

Martin made the announcement to Democrat writers Steve Ellis and Jim Henry on the Sports Reporters Roundtable radio show on 1410- ESPN Thursday afternoon. The weekly hour-long show airs each Thursday beginning at 4 p.m.

Martin also said pitcher Luke Tucker would be available this weekend. Tucker had complained of shoulder soreness.

The home games against Miami will be at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday at Dick Howser Stadium.
