Alexander, who was the only columnist wise enough to pick the Owl to win the East, should know a little about MAC ball, he’s been covering it for 21 years. Many laughed at Noah, when he set out to build an Ark, before the great floods came. Is it Temple’s time to flood the MAC with wins ?? Do NOT laugh, heathen for there are great similarities in Alexander, Noah and these prophecies. To wit:

Noah was 600 years old when he began work on the great vessel. Alexander 54 when he made his ridiculed supposition. The difference is 546 years. 546 is the area code of Eastern Michigan where the MAC Championship will be held.

Coincidence? What about this? The Ark came to rest on the Mountain of Ararat. Ararat is in Turkey after the region was ceded by the Soviet Union in the Treaty of Kars. Detroit, home of the MAC Championship is obviously known for cars. Will Temple be feasting on Turkey, Christmas Day, when they prepare for the MAC West winner on Dec 26? Perhaps in a hotel in {Pontiac with area code 5-4-6?

Noah is credited inventing Wine. Wasn’t Alexander’s prediction the source of much whining?

Still a skeptic? The Clev Plain Dealer cost .50. Fitty Cent has a song called Clue. Is this enough? No, well if we were to indulge ourselves a bit longer, Fitty offers us this poignant Lyric in his poetic tome, Thug Love:

“Look we can shop together, Mama, his and hers
Fifth Avenue S**T baby, Fendi furs
I ain’t tight with the chips girl,
I’m down to splurge”

These affecting words may refer to many social strifes and socio-economic quandaries but, is it too far fetched to believe Alexander, through established pricing of the product is telling Temple fans to dress warmly in late December and enjoy themselves thoroughly at the Motor City Casino?

Seek high ground Macsters.

“Be fruitful and multiply and have lots of fun doing so.”
Genesis
Detroits area code is 313
Pontiac's is 248 ( though I don't know why that is relavent)

Your posts aren't funny. This one is just strange. I can't imagine what you would be like if Temple football was anything more than the awful abortion that it has been for decades.
And, please, keep my son out of these discussions.

Comparing Elton Alexander to my son is unacceptable.
Elton Alexander = Clueless

(Please feel free to add other equations. This is about as nice as I could be.)
Eastern Michigan's (which sadly will have nothing to do with the MAC Championship) area code is 734.

This was one weird thread Prophet.

Last sentence. For those troubled by links, addition or truth, justice and all that, key points:

"Temple" "Very Good" "Sleeping Giant"

Wasnt there a MAC Medal winning poster laughing at that phrase associated with TU just last week ???

I love MACsters !
Since Marshall left the league, Elton Alexander has been the dumbest writer covering the MAC on a regular basis.

Still, it's nice to see that *someone* is excited about Temple football.

Take care,
DG
1-11 Shut up
Not you Dave sorry. I meant 1-11 Temple
Hmmm...What possible motivation could Gregg Brandon have for singing the praises of Temple? Gee, I wonder...

maybe you should write one also, that way you could have some kind of clue.

using a Brandon quote to try to prove your point is just priceless. 03-lmfao
My kingdom for just a grain of wit, a mustard seed that might be planted now that may someday produce a compelling response.

We know the writer as "Ellen" among Kent State fans. If there is any kiss of death, it's getting picked by her.

Apparently that's exactly what he knows about MAC football.

I thought of exactly that when I read the thread title: "what's BG's son got to do with Temple?? And why?"

On a totally unrelated note (except for your son's name), I also wonder: When you call him, does he respond with "Yes, Lord?", or "WHAT?!"

(I'm awarding myself bonus points for working in both your son's name AND a Temple alum's work)

If he's the columnist I remember,he thinks the MAC has put too much effort into football.

I read that and kept hearing the sound effect "Zooopa, zooopa, zoopa ...."

Believe it or not, I actually have the original album!
I believe it...I had that album til it wore out, along with quite a few others. Love your sound effect too! :ncaabbs: "zoopa zoopa zoopa":lmfao:03-lmfao
A few days before the MAC Media Day in Detroit, I ran into Elton at the MAC office in downtown Cleveland, here are a few of his quotes to me in that conversation. And he is the MAC's prime beat writer in their prime market with over 1.2M alums in greater Cleveland? No wonder attendance stinks at certain MAC venues.

============================

"I don't know why Akron is building a new stadium, they can't fill up the one they have right now."

"The MAC shouldn't try to be something that it's not; they should put all of the their resources in basketball and not even play football; at least not IA."

"There isn't much difference between an Akron/Kent St game and Oberlin/Hiram (two local and very bad D-III schools)."

"The MAC's bowl games don't manke any omney, the schools don't make any money and no one goes to the MCB anyway." When reminded that the CMU/MTSU game had over 50,000 in actual attendance for the game; Elton replied "I didn't know that; still, who cares?"

And he closed with this wonderful thought - "wake me up when basketball season begins."
