What a day on the south side....Sox take 2 from Detroit, Jenks records 2 saves, Pods was causing terror out there on the base paths, and they came back from a 7-1 deficit in game 2 to win!
03-yawn
04-rock:dance:02-13-banana BUT ... Gavin Floyd sucked for a second straight spot start, all mental with that kid, he's got the stuff for sure (think Rich Hill b4 he figured it out, AAA Cy Young) ... I hate Pods and he still can't get on base, he is still fragile as glass and will be on the DL within a month ... Javy wins his 5th straight decision, love this guy on the mound now, pitching like an ace and finally earning that $13 million ... My boy Jerry Owens extends the hitting streak to 10 games, 15 straight games started with a hit also ... Bullpen threw 5.1 scoreless innings today, they still suck and will lose more games this year but refreshing to see nonetheless ... Like the Wasserman kid, a clone of former Sox Chad Bradford (submariner) ... Josh Fields continues to impress me, driving in big runs and showing nice power to all fields and makes the plays he's supposed to in the field, no doubt he is going to be better than Crede in 2-3 years ... Contreras (1-8 with a 7.56 ERA in his last 10 starts) on the bump tomorrow 03-puke 03-weeping his last start in a White Sox uniform, there's no way Kenny keeps him past the deadline
I'll take the good news where I can get it. And I do feel good about Owen lately. And Fields as well.

Uribe's conversion into Jose Hernandez is continuing. And Contreras can only get traded if he pitches well enough for someone to want him. Good lord is he sucking. And what game do I get to go to? Contreras v. Rogers. This stands to be a rough night.

Ah well, have a few good years in a row like the Sox have had and a down year is liveable.

I'm going to the game tonight as well...good lord what happened to Contreras...over the last half of 05 and the first half of 06 he was arguably the best pitcher in the game....

He couldn't have gotten that old overnight...I mean is there really that big a difference between a 62 year old pitcher and a 64 year old???
contreras of late 05 and early 06 is showing to be the true abberation. this guy is more consistent with the old contreras before he figured things out.
It's hard to say what normal for Contreras is except inconsistency. He had an alright first year with the Yankees but had injury issues and a bad post-season. The next year he was...well, he was traded for Esteban Loaiza. Then things came around for him with the Sox for a while. Now the wheels have completely fallen off.

He has it in him to pitch well- but with him pitching seems more complicated than with other guys.
