a worker continues inspecting the end zone carpet at 6:30pm Friday nite...for god sake it's way past happy hour....now that is dedication and pride in a job done well.
I just got back from the rec, ran past and saw him out there...was thinking the same thing!
Or he would rather get it done now rather than having to come spend another day at NIU. 03-wink
he is still spreading and raking granules into turf at 8:45pm.

Sure hope it's all OT pay.

MB&G : Could be worse. His next job site may be turdledo. Hey, you started the ball rolling down hill !

EDITED - almost 9:30pm

WOW ! two guys still working on turf using AAPC lighting only....end zone is totally dark.
Maybe he is preparing for a night time statue installation.
NOT !
They both just left minutes ago.

It's really kinda creepy to watch others work and know one guy lit up a cig near tunnel entry before heading out then returned shortly afterward to pick up a jacket left behind on the planter wall.

I hope he doesn't come to Toledo next, we don't want him to bring that smell w/ him.

the smell of success when playing by the rules?
I must admit to having a facination with watching the process of raking black rubber granules and white sand into the Field Turf. Sometimes the granules are pushed forward like with a snow plow having a brush while other times the back end is towing a sled like those of groundscrews on dirt of a baseball diamond.

I checked early Sat morning for a few minuites and a worker in a vehicle was again redistributing the granules and sand...back and forth...back and forth....back and forth.

When I returned to watch at 4:15pm he was still making passes around and around and around the turf.

This has been ongoing for several days. Seems like an inordinante amount of time and labor required to do what would seem like an uncomplicated , quick task.
Is it Toledo that's called the "mistake on the Lake"?

No, that's Cleveland and their sports teams inability to win championships.

Erie, PA is a MUCH bigger "mistake by the lake" IMHO.
Working on Sunday!!!
Wondering whether or not the white spot on turf as seen on camera to the right and just below the white box frame on the light standard is visible from the ground level?

Wondering if the newly planted evergreens have been watered since the storm of last Monday. New plantings especially in a container need water almost every other day during the dawg days of summer....I did NOT see when visiting last Friday afternoon any fabric cloth nor wood chips in place as mulch to reduce evaporation and retard weeds...

I doubt it, since that looks like an artifact from the lens as opposed to something on the field.
Working now on Sunday night
It' s not ON the lense - it's imbedded into the turf.

It's white sand apparently deposited heavily & accumulated in one location IMO.

If it's on the lense it will not soon go away like neither has the brown bug juice stain....crew will work to spread the granules of sand ....again....is my bet.
