I am considering coming down (from up north, Troy area) to watch some DSL games Saturday. From the schedule I have from the Enquirer article back on 17 June it appears that the first game starts at 1100hrs. But the first game of interest UC-wise is Slats at 1200hrs. Then the 1400hrs games has Gentry and Adam H.

I haven't been to DSL or the similar summer leagues in the past. Can anyone tell me what to expect attendance-wise?
Would I have to worry about it being SRO if I skip the first game and show up for the 12noon game?

Can I get lunch there or would I have to drive off-site, or is it advised not to leave for lunch and risk losing your seats?

It's a decent drive, around 100miles for me. So if I decide to do it I want to make sure I have everything taken care of to ensure a fun experience.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't know about 1200 hrs, but I think the slats game starts at noon. Just kidding.

Don't worry about seating. There are no tickets. The whole thing is VERY laid back and there is plenty of room. They ask for a $3 donation at the door and people come and go as they please.

Unless Kenyon and Nick VE announce that they will be playing that day, you should expect easy access, free parking and plenty of seating options.

Thanks for the info.

I think I can pull it off if I promise the girlfriend that if she sits through some games that I will take her to a nice place for dinner.

Anyone have any advice on a relatively cheap place to eat that appears expensive? 03-shhhh

My opinion of relatively cheap and yours must be different. There's a place called Whitey Cassell's that has great food. I recommend the sliders.

Mr Happy

The only thing close to Woodward H.S. is McDonalds.
