Has anyone heard anything about us doing a 1-for-1 with them in Men's Bball? The Trojans are a non-football member of the Sun Belt Conference.
Yes, late December (28th or 29th) in DeKalb. Return game next year.

Thanks for posting the schedule! However, the RPIs do not mean anything on the schedule. Ive come to realize the downfalls of the RPI, and last year's rankings mean little or nothing for next year. Examples from above is especially true for SIU. Having them 7 in the RPI obviously shows its flaws and this year they will be obviously nowhere near that ranking. Notre Dame at 31 is also a joke.
These are the types of games we need to schedule.. not powerhouses but not absolute cream puffs either. I like that we're helping each other out by giving each other home games.

Just because a team won't reach it's RPI the next year doesn't mean it's a joke. RPI's from year to year have nothing to do with each other.

SIU went to the sweet 16 and nearly the elite 8, so I'm not sure why you see their RPI as a "joke".

7 you know as well as I do that advancing in the tournament does not necessarily make you better team then several of the teams that did not advance as far as you did. After watching SIU alot toward the end of the year Id say they belonged right around #25, somewhere in the fringe of the top 25 at least, 7th is a bit hysterical.

That's a great point. I mean last years Badgers were better than the '05 Illini and couldn't even escape the 1st weekend of the dance and get to the Sweet 16.

Im pretty sure if you take one of the 05 Illini's top 3 players off their roster to injury like Wisconsin, they would have had a very tough time in the tournament.

You always have an excuse don't you MD? I'd be willing to bet if you took off one of Dee/Deron/Luther they would have found their way out of the first weekend. Wisconsin didn't. I'd also be willing to bet all 3 of those guys were better then Brian freaking Butch.

I hope it did not sound like I was making excuses. Sometimes I think people use that too much, I mean if a team has injuries a team has injuries, and some teams suffer from them more than other teams. That was an amazing thing about the 05 Illini was their ability to stay completely healthy. You need that to advance deeply in tournament play. I do not think its a matter of making excuses, facts are facts.
And the fact is, Wisconsin couldn't have held the 05 Illini's jock.
7 Wrote:And the fact is, Wisconsin couldn't have held the 05 Illini's jock.

We will never know, Ive said this before but I think Wisconsin would have held up favorably against them, but that is one of the fun things about sports, matching up two comparable teams from different years.
MD, it's not basketball season anymore. Please save your lunacy until the season resumes again. 03-banghead03-rotfl
Both A-LR and NIU aren' t cream puffs on anyone's schedule next season?

what do you think SIU fans would be saying about having either or both of these two opponents on their OCC schedule next year?

Go to Saluki fan website and feed on the lack of repsect for NIU bball.
Temple is not a done deal. Right now, it's on the books for 2008-09 in DeKalb. Slim chance it could be moved to this season. Still need one more game at home for around the 18th or 19th of December.

The fans on the Temple boards seem to think we're playing them this year. They're wrong then?
