Don't know if anyone just saw it, but Derrek Lee got beaned by Chris Young and then a bench clearing brawl began. No real good punches connected, but it was quite comical. Sucks now that Lee is going to be suspended for probably 4 to 12 games.
I would say 5-10. Barrett got 10 for his punch and he connected. He also wasn't hit by a pitch. We will see though. What was he thinking? Not smart DLee.
the whole thing was Jake Peavy in a interview after the game said that if someone showed up his players such as soriano did yesterday after the homerun yesterday that he would bean that guy or someone else on the team for showing him up, so i think that Young was going to do something cause of soriano showing up Wells yesterday also add to the fact that D Lee went 4 for 4 yesterday i can see that happening on the lee. Looks like the ball hit Lee's wrist that was broke last year so Lee took exception to the fact he got hit high and tight and especially after peavys words yesterday, he prob took peavys words as speaking for the whole padres pitching staff so, i think Lee will prob get 5-10 games and he wont start serving until the last week of june after the sox series cause of the whole appeal process and i think he'll end up getting in the end 6-8 games after the appeal process, what works for the cubs is that at least he prob wont have to start serving the suspension until Aramis Ramirez gets back because he looks to be coming back for the whitesox series as of now

Apparently some people who had first row seats at the game heard the exchange between the two. They called the score and said it went something like this:
Young: "You okay?"
Lee: "yeah"
Young: "okay then get the **** down to first base"
apparently Young didn't like the fact that Lee was taking his time getting to 1st.
I missed the ordeal but I have a question for those who saw it... when the benches cleared and the fighting began, which side of the fight did Z take? lol
The funny part about Big Z was that he was putting his belt back in after the melee. Did he rip it out planning to whip someone with it?
I don't know if anyone else saw this, but if you look at the replay, after the benches cleared you can see D. Lee run behind Lou Panella, lol it was pretty funny.
Jordan I finally just saw the replay that was the first thing I noticed; pretty pitiful. If your going to start a fight you have to be ready to finish it.

Announced that Lee and Young will both receive 5 game suspensions and Cubs Bench Coach Gerald Perry will be suspended 3 games.
Suspensions will start tomorrow unless they are appealed.

Peavy should of been suspended. He jumped on Lee's back
just about right for both of them, even if they appeal i doubt it will go down at all with only 5 games, but in retrospect this is Lee suspended 5 games, Chris Young only suspended one game when u look into it seeing that Young pitches once every 5 days
