Carolina's claim to basketball superiority lately has been reduced to their boast that they put more players in the pros than Duke. Of the 4 teams in the semi-finals now there is only one Carolina player (Fox, L.A.) and his team may not make the finals. I guess It doesn't matter if the players are championship quality, just as long as Carolina has a bunch of them in there! Does the choke follow a player his entire career? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="tongue.gif" />

Uh huh... and how many Duke players are in the semis? ...Thanks for calling!

BTW I think the only one that Duke has in the semis is Roshown McLeod, and I would say that Fox is much more important to the Lakers than McLeod is to the Celtics. BTW I know Maryland doesnt have any players in the semis but thats not the point, the point is you were talking trash about Carolina when their one player in the semis is far superior to your one player.
Duke plays football?? <img border="0" alt="[laugh]" title="" src="graemlins/laughing.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[laugh]" title="" src="graemlins/laughing.gif" />

You guys sure can dance around a question.

Sorry, but that's not the only one way we measure our basketball success against dook. Here are others:

1) All-time record: UNC 122, Duke 90
2) Carolina has more all-time wins, ACC regular-season wins, ACC tournament wins, and NCAA tournament wins
3) Carolina has more national championships: 4-3
4) Carolina has more ACC championships: 15-13

Those are basically all the important stats when talking about the UNC vs. dook series.

I didn't say 4 NCAA championships. I said 4 national championships.

We were the only team voted as national champions in 1924 -- by a reputable, nationally-recognized foundation, mind you. We went undefeated that year and beat some of the best teams in the nation along the way, so I'm going to count it....

-JD
Also, I suppose we've never had an NCAA champion in football, since there's never been a tournament....

-JD
Alright, it's not what have you done, but what have you done lately? Last I recall, UNC got their asses handed to them this past season. Anyone want to tell me i'm wrong. What's going on now is what determines the strength of a program.
Well, I guess dook's loss to Indiana is all that matters from this past season then....

LL/Jim: That's something that needs to be fixed really soon, too. The BCS is just dragging college football down....

It's time for a playoff! And, I mean soon!

(This calls for a Sports Bar poll.)

So is that why Duke is so bad at football? They throw the games because they are fed up with the BCS? Way to take a stand! <img border="0" alt="[Bow]" title="" src="graemlins/bow.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Bow]" title="" src="graemlins/bow.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Bow]" title="" src="graemlins/bow.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="tongue.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[laugh]" title="" src="graemlins/laughing.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[laugh]" title="" src="graemlins/laughing.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[laugh]" title="" src="graemlins/laughing.gif" />

Not every carolina player becomes a star, but there's a better chance of it happening as a tarheel, rather than a blue devil, at least when looking back on the past 10 years.

I will say this: At this point, i suspect that a couple of duke players will become impact players in the NBA over the next couple of years.

didnt some of you dookies say earlier in the year that maryland's success wasn't that important or meaningful because we had no fabulous history??
