interesting if not disturbing analysis.....you can kinda see how this threat could force some the Rome parallels people like to discuss, from Republic to Caesar(military dictaroship)......temporarily of course(not). thats the reason the Soviets are/were more feared than US, our foreign policy can be dictated by the emotions(and ignorance) of voters, unlike the Soviets.

If America and Western Civilization survives the next 4 decades and the Baby Boom our enemies are now sowing with Nazi youth type propaganda against us, we can survive about anything.....I hope.
Sometimes I don't think these crazy people know what they believe or why they do what they do. I mean you have to be very deceived to strap a bomb across yourself and blow up yourself and a bunch of people on a bus somewhere. I honestly don't see them as being a major threat. So IMHO, it doesn't matter if they perceive us as being weak or not. They plan an attack about every 3 or 4 years that is successful. And I have no doubt it will happen again. Bush refuses to secure our points of entry into the United States. It's been business as usual since 9/11. In order for our country to be over run by immigrants, it seems to be a tradeoff he is willing to accept.

I think the real threat will come from China. But who knows--it could come from anywhere. As America grows weaker and more split apart who knows.

He's well known. I'll give you that. But he doesn't have much respect in the field.
Me thinks one reason the Arabs around Israel did not mess with the Russians is because the Russians were their weapons supplier. The author doesn't mention that.

he does mention the one time they did attack the Soviets...

Quote:There was only one attack on Soviet citizens, when one diplomat was killed and several others kidnapped. The Soviet response through their local agents was swift, and directed against the family of the leader of the kidnappers. The kidnapped Russians were promptly released, and after that there were no attacks on Soviet citizens or installations throughout the period of the Lebanese troubles.

they are like typical school yard bullies, they prefer to attack without repurcusions. Its an existential threat on the rise....just look at the Mickey Mouse propaganda video Hamas showed to its kids in light of their baby boom and ask yourself what they are planning on doing with this human capital they have brainwashed into suicidal jihad.
