Indy at Denver.

The winner of this one is in the drivers seat for home field. Denver's defense is incredible, It is amazing that they are this good when Jake Plummer is having a so so year. Shannahan doesnt get the credit he deserves.
denver is overrated, like every other season. they have a crap offense and flashy defense, which usually folds at some point in the playoffs.
Holy crap, best running game in football against worst run defense = disaster for Indianapolis. This is a great game.

except, the colts beat the crap out of that overrated broncos defense. the colts ran the ball really well and of course peyton picked them apart.
Id still say they have a great defense, its just Peyton Manning runs what might be the most efficient offense in the history of the league. There arent many teams that are going to score 30+ on the Broncos this year.

it's very good, no doubt, but i think it's flashy and therefore gets overrated. the unit always seems to choke in the big game.
I dont quite understand what you mean by "flashy," if you mean fast than I agree, I guess they are a bit of a finesse unit, but I think there are two ways you can build an NFL defense, speed, or power. And this basically comes down to the linebackers, because you need big guys up front and fast guys in the defensive backfield, but with the linebacker corp you can build it around speed, guys who can cover a lot of ground in pass coverage, or power, guys that will lay the lumber and put a hurting on some people. Both methods can be effective.

you're right i didn't really explain myself. i meant flashy in terms of, they have some athletic freaks combined with some big names who never seem to come up big when it counts. Take jon lynch. he's a flashy name, but hasn't been good in years.
So in your opinion they are kind of like the opposite of the '72 dolphins no name defense?

lmfao lmfao lmfao

i have no idea what that no-name defense is.
I figured so much.

1972 was the year the Dolphins went a perfect 17-0 through the regular season and the playoffs, beating the Redskins in the superbowl, I assume you knew this much, but anyways that teams defensive unit is known as the no name defense, because it was a group without any super star players. The teams defense was always overshadowed by the offense, and was nicknamed the no name defense.

i knew the dolphins were 17-0 that year, i just didn't know their defense was called the no name defense.
