US midfielder Chris Armas tore his ACL in the 2-1 US victory over Uruguay yesterday
THB...how bad is that? Was he one of our better players? The World Cup is one of the only times that I'll actually get excited about watching soccer. It would suck to see the US team be hurt by a dumb injury in an exhibition match.
LT...he was a defensive midfielder. He has experience, but is not integral to the US team, we have ample replacements...the US will be fine.

So where do we sit in the World rankings? What does our draw look like? What are the chances of advancing to the second round and beyond?
In reality, he's been the only solid man in the back for the US lately. Yes this is bad for now and yes they will rebound, but this one hurts.
I believe we were #13 in the latest world rankings, just behind Germany. Our draw is decent....portugal, poland, and the hosts, korea. Our first game on June 5 against portugal will tell a lot about our chances of advancing...portugal is very very solid. I like our chances of advancing though
