Full Version: Shelden Williams admitted

The Duke board from ACCBoards is reporting this. I do not think this was a smart move from Duke. This seems to be very controversal. Although no charges were filed from the girl, something happened in that room that "got out of hand" and cause him to get kicked off the team.

How many different way can people spell "Shelden" wrong?!?! <img border="0" alt="[Laughing]" title="" src="graemlins/laughing.gif" />

Sholdon
Sheldin
Sheldon
Selden
Sholdon Wollioms (never seen this one, but I wouldn't be surprised)

But, I think it is risky for Duke to admit him, but I trust K's judgement. If K thinks Shelden is innocent, I trust him, because he has a lot more info on the situation that I do.
nevermind... from the title of the thread, I thought you were posting that he admitted that he raped that girl...
I'll take therapists for $400 Alex.

You don't know what went on with Coach K, Shelden, and/or Shelden's coach. I trust that Coach K made an informed decision.

Sorry about the spelling; I was rushing. Also sorry about the title; I was rushing.
Yes, K was likely informed by the Duke boosters that Shelden was to be admitted.

Just ask Big Case. When we were at TDD, the civil fans that came over there had great things to say about Coach K.

Just look at his post game comments after every game. After the BC game 2 years ago, when Walls pushed JWill, Coach K said nothing but positive things about BC's program. After Duke beat UK in 1992, Coach K said nothing about how good Duke played until he praised UK and their players.
Those are just 2 of the long list of examples to prove that Coach K is a very, very classy coach.

I love seeing the dookies getting on their high horse saying K is a classy this and a classy that. IF you want to see how a class individual handles himself, go find some old UCLA games when Wooden was coaching. He was class. Saying K is classy is an insult to Wooden.
As far as Williams is concerned, IMAGINE what the DD and the DBR would be doing to him if he had been admitted to Carolina, State, Wake or any other ACC school. Sure, the kid was not put into the system. I have my opinions as to why, you have yours.
Shelden Williams will be a huge liability for Duke. The high-and-mighty posturing that he 'didn't do anything' because there wasn't a conviction doesn't fly. And it won't in the upcoming seasons.

K is either being an utter saint or he is making a huge Faustian bargain.
Coach K is NOT classy. Coach K wins, and therefore people let him slide on things that other people get slammed for. Duke Vitale is so far up his ass, that we never hear a bad word about that guy. Coach K could go out on the court and fart, and Duke Vitale would say it was the best coaching move in the history of coaching.

Here is a perfect example of why Coach K is not classy (there are countless examples, but this is one of the latest).....After he lost to Indiana and he was doing the post game interviews he said "I would never blame a game on the officiating, the game is too good for that" (I'm not sure of the exact quote, but it was something like that). One.....you can't proclaim that you are being gracious in defeat. If you are gracious, then that just shows through. Telling everyone that you are being gracious, is actually boorish and conniving (except to Duke Vitale who probably was on his knees at the time of the interview). Two.....that was a stab in the back to Gary Williams and Lute Olsen who made critical comments of the officiating after last year's final four. He was trying to one-up them by proclaiming his love for the game. BS!
