For those of you who don't know, I am a senior in high school and I am trying to make the decision on where to attend school. I know most of you don't care, but I am seriously looking for input from anyone who is willing to give it...

here are my top 3:

1. Full Sail, Orlando - This school has everything I could want, and saves me a ton of $$. Overall, I love this school! Has anyone heard of or had any experience with them before?

A distant 2. Asbury College Willmore, Kentucky great school for digital media, but not specifically what I want. (I have been accepted here).

3. Messiah College Grantham, PA They have a strong engineering program here. I dont know if i want to do engineering, everyone says I should because I am good in math, but I don't really know! This is also alot closer to home than the other two, I live in southeastern pa.

The three programs I have narrowed it down to at Full Sail are, Digital media, Recording Arts and Show Production and Touring.

So like I said, ANY input is greatly appreciated!
Full Sail is supposedly a very good graphics oriented school. At least that's what my cousin told me; he's looking into commercial graphic design.
I am also a senior in high school, and looked into Full Sail and Asbury College. Asbury made my final list because it was closer to my location and seemed strong enough for my degree plan at the time, which was also graphic design, digital media and such.

I have ended up deciding to attend the University of Arkansas so that I may be a part of its subpar Journalism program. The power of athletics.... one of the only reasons I'm going there is the Hogs.... I sure hope I dont live to regret it!

Anyway, back to your question, I dont really know much about the two, I just skimmed the websites and mailouts a few months ago, but Full Sail seemed a step ahead of Asbury to me.

Senior here too:

Georgia Tech --> accepted ... tuition: $18,000/yr. out of state.. nearly no $$$ help
South Carolina (Columbia) --> accepted ... tuition: paid in state scholarships
South Carolina Honors College (Columbia) --> waiting to hear from
NC State University --> waiting to hear from

I had the advantage of knowing what I wanted to do and where I wanted to go, however. Credit my persistent and demanding folks on that one.

What does Mrs. GTS think of going out of state to Tech or UNC-Raleigh?
Just think about me getting accepted into Pratt in NYC but got the $44,000 tuition bill.

Not like I'm doing much better though with the $20,000-some I'm still payin' where I go now. :bang:

Goodness, don't be a moron and consider going to Moo U when you have other fine schools to pick from....

Mrs. GTS knows it's really either USC-H or GT. Either way we'll have a 1:30 to 2:15 drive to see each other. Not too bad I guess.

I'll have an identity crisis if I go to USC-H.   :drink:    03-razz :frown: :ninja: 05-nono

Yeah...Fighting_Gamecock_Swagger doesn't have the same ring to it.
Georgia Tech seems like the best option to me. I looked into Georgia Tech because a friend of mine really wanted to go to college in Atlanta and didnt like Emory all that much, and he is sort of a moron when it comes to finding what is good about a school, so he asked me to do it for him.

It was nice enough that I almost sold myself into going.

But, the U of Arkansas Honors College just got a 250 million dollar grant from the Waltons and they have offered me a full scholarship plus a small stipend, so I am able to get a top notch education without being incredibly far away from home.

BTW, Good luck to everyone on these college decisions!

05-nono Don't listen to the Tar Hole. State is a great university. The Tiki Hut girls are reason enough to get your arse up here. :D
There are -- what -- two Tiki Hut girls? There are thousands of Tiki Hut girls at Carolina....

I'm not familiar with Ben's first & third choices, but I do know a little about Asbury. I was a youth counselor at my church and one of the top seniors from last year chose Asbury over Vanderbilt, Wake Forest :frown: , and Rhodes College. She was in the International Baccalaureate Program and was salutatorian of her class. She wants to major in Religious Studies and if she doesn't end up in seminary, she wants to be a Christian counselor. She felt Asbury would fit her career goals as well as challenge her with a variety of classes. From what I heard from her over Christmas break, she has enjoyed her time there so far.

Good luck to all of you in making your decisions! :)

thanks for all of your input!

another drawing point of Full Sail is that I would be closer to Chapel Hill, and could stop by on my breaks, which dont happen... 96 credit hours in 12 months... 2 classes a week, 8 hours of one class/day, and 5-6 days of class per week... the longest break is christmas which is like a week and a half

so yeah, that is intense! , but i am def up for the challange
