here is a breakdown of how we might get our wins next basketball season.

"Getting (Close) To 20" by Art Chansky (GoHeels.com): <a href="http://goheels.com/basketball/article.asp?ArticleID={DC33A5D5-C34E-46AD-A1E6-419A04545809}" target="_blank">http://goheels.com/basketball/article.asp?ArticleID={DC33A5D5-C34E-46AD-A1E6-419A045 45809}</a>

IMO, I'd like for us to shoot for an 8-8 record in the ACC.

Thanks for breaking it down for us Baked <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="rolleyes.gif" />
Hey...at least the Terps don't need stupid-ass columnists to break down their schedule and search for the wins. I think that is kinda funny and the best way to express that is <img border="0" alt="[laugh]" title="" src="graemlins/laughing.gif" /> If you disagree, please let me know a better way to express the humor that I see in that article.
I wouldn't talk so fast. I don't know where you see the guarantees for your team next year. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="confused.gif" />

Blake isn't going to be dishing out double digit assists this year because all of the guys that were scoring are gone. Can Blake be an offensive threat? That remains to be seen.

Holden and Randle are good, experienced players: nothing more. They are big bodies that should fair well against the rest of the younger guys in the league, but they are still unproven.

Garrison is your best freshmen, and he is good. But UNC's freshmen class is much more talented than Maryland's.

Your team will have experience and a coach, but not as much talent as most teams in the league. And who is going to score for your team??? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="confused.gif" />

If last year's 8-20 Tar Heel team was only 15 points worse than the national champs, than I am pretty happy about our chances with your team next year. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" />

Go Heels!
Hoops...wake up son! Blake will continue to dish out many assists next year and you didn't even mention Drew Nicolas <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="confused.gif" /> If Randle and Holden are just "good experienced players" (BTW...they're not), what are the guys that make up your frontcourt going to be <img border="0" alt="[laugh]" title="" src="graemlins/laughing.gif" /> And if you think that Garrison is our best freshman then you have something coming to you. We'll see whose clas is better when they prove themselves on the court. Hopefully, you have learned that rankings don't mean **** ! Oh yeah...two words...JAMAR SMITH. Who has more talent than us in the league...please list them. You also say that we will have experience and a coach and that's it...well usually those two things take a team VERY VERY FAR.

Guys, we really shouldn't make many speculations about incoming players, just because we've all too often seen how some recruits don't fulfill what we would like them to. Considering this, we must look at the experience that is already there for each team, because that will likely be what makes the winners.

UNC has some impressive sophmore players, and I sincerely hope that they have breakout seasons. But the terps have one of the best PGs(if not the best) in the country, a fine 6th man (who will probably have to be the man initially this year), and some seasoned big guys.

I'm not saying that this will determine it, only time will do that, just don't put so much expectations in the incoming players, because they don't always materialize.

...okay, i'm done!
Here we go:

Maryland fans better hope that he has a coming out party this season, because I don't know who else is going to score points.

</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote:</font><hr /><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif"> And if you think that Garrison is our best freshman then you have something coming to you. </font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">What other Maryland recruit was a McDonald's All-American? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="confused.gif" />

</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote:</font><hr /><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif"> Hopefully, you have learned that rankings don't mean **** ! </font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Oh I get it now; you are happy that your recruits were ranked fairly low because you think it means that they will be the next Juan Dixons? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="confused.gif" /> They won't be.

</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote:</font><hr /><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif"> Who has more talent than us in the league...please list them. </font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I hate to say it, but Duke does. Maryland has the edge in experience, but Duke has more talent.
Roughly:

Duhon>Blake (Duhon is more of an offensive threat)

Ewing>Nicholas (Ewing has a sweet shot and plays with great court savvy and confidence, and last year he was only a freshman!)

Jones>?????? (Jones is probably the best defensive player in the league, one of the most athletic, and one of the strongest.)

Shav and Thompson=Randle and Holden
Hoops...I can't even respond to some of that, it is just laughable, but here goes...

</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote:</font><hr /><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Nicholas will start at the 2. Maryland fans better hope that he has a coming out party this season, because I don't know who else is going to score points.</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">DO SOME ****ING RESEARCH

</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote:</font><hr /><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">What other Maryland recruit was a McDonald's All-American?</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Since when does being a McDonald's AA, make you the best. Haven't you learned anything from the Terps wining the NC without any Hamburger Helpers on their roster? Just remember this name...Nik Caner-Medley. He will be dunking all over Jawab in no time at all. <img border="0" alt="[laugh]" title="" src="graemlins/laughing.gif" />

</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote:</font><hr /><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Oh I get it now; you are happy that your recruits were ranked fairly low because you think it means that they will be the next Juan Dixons? They won't be.</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">No...you don't get it. OBVIOUSLY. Like I said earlier, rankings don't mean **** . It's what they do on the court and just wait till you see our freshman on the court.

</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote:</font><hr /><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Jones>?????? (Jones is probably the best defensive player in the league, one of the most athletic, and one of the strongest.</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">BWAHAHAHA...tell that to JAMAR SMITH little one. I guess we shall see on that one.

</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote:</font><hr /><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Shav and Thompson=Randle and Holden</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I would just like you to explain this one to me

BTW...why no mention on the Tar Heels in your post???

Duhon will be Blake's ***** once again this season. Duhon sucks so much it makes me want to cry. <img border="0" alt="[laugh]" title="" src="graemlins/laughing.gif" />

Oh yeah and you will cry when NCM dunks on every single tarhole next year. <img border="0" alt="[laugh]" title="" src="graemlins/laughing.gif" />

Oh, now I remember: Worst defeat in UNC history?

In their last 4 games against each other Blake has outscored Duhon by a total of 11 points. He played 22 more minutes than Duhon and all other stats are so close that there's no point in bringing them up. One would think that an upperclassman would have a little more to show his ***** <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="confused.gif" /> ????????????
I think after this past season, we'll be the perpetual underdog in the ACC for awhile now.

It's a different perspective for us, but I will enjoy actually surprising people when we pull off some wins. I also think it will breathe some much needed excitement into our fan base.

Next season can't come soon enough for me....

one day I'll understand the point of flaming.

You would think people had better things to do with their time.

Altmin, I see your posts a lot at IC, it's good to have you here, even if it is just occasionally. <img border="0" alt="[Cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/cheers.gif" />

Go Heels!</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif"><img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="mad-flaming.gif" /> actually, blake will be dishing out double digit assists this year. hes already the altime assists leader of maryland. u're just scared of the terps.
I will say it right now, so mark my words:

Blake will not lead the ACC in assists next year.

-------------------------------------------------

Reason Why: Wilcox, Dixon, Mouton, Baxter=GONE
Those guys put 69% of your entire team's points on the board last year. For someone to get an assist, one of their teamates is going to have to score. Without the scorers and the stars like last year, defenses will be able to key in on Blake and put more pressure on him. I just don't see how he is going to put up double digit assists again, or for that matter, lead the conference.
